Hey, check out this:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/MARK-KNOPFLER-Miniature-Guitar-Frame-Dire-Straits-/251372814735

I think it's a cool MK Strat copy and it's definately worth watching! Among others this replica stands out in my opinion.

Hi!

Just wanted to tell that my guitar arrived yesterday. Everything was in excellent shape, and it was really a joy to open that case and see that beautiful guitar for the first time :) It really is a masterpiece of an instrument. I am very happy that I finally got it, and although hanging it around my neck didn't make me sound like Mark right away, I am sure it is a step in the right direction :) The guitar is serial number SE11598, so I suppose it is built recently? Anyone understand Fender's dating system?

Good work mate glad you are happy, the vintage profile on those necks I DO quite like a lot.
So what amp will you plug it into??? :)

Thanks! :) Amp? Well... I have an "old" amp here which I bought together with my first Stratocaster a few years ago. It's a Vox AD30VT. It is nothing special, and I guess it's a starter amp, so I think a new one is the next on the list. I should probably to wait for my next paycheck though ;)

Hi Jarle,
So pleased you got it safely...

The only way to tell the year is by taking the neck off and getting the date from the neck! As it's a 'signature' series the serial number isn't for dating the beast!! (I gather you have the 'serial' number hangtag stamped/signed on the 4 stages of construction??)

Mine incidentally were dated when the guitars were initially serviced and 'set-up'

Fletch - you will be pleased to hear that the tremolo has been utilised on 'SE00616' this morning and it sounded awesome!!

Brian,

The Fender MK is far too good to just stick on the wall - hopefully if you get one it may get you to start playing!!
