Ingrid, when I said that I dont understand why someone buy the same exact guitar three time, there was no jelousy at all in my phrase. I dont play guitar, I dont have any guitar, and I dont want to buy a guitar no matter if its a MK signature or he the on MK played it, its a nonsense to me having a guitar because its totally useless to me, even as a collector item, its too expensive to be considered FOR ME, so even for a MK  fan, FOR ME, looks like little sense having the exact same guitar three times. If I can

I understand you jbaent. I would kill someone (JOKE) to have a MK Fender, but I am not jealous at all if Knopflerfan has three of them. I' m happy for him that he has those guitars, because they're utterly great and sound wonderful. Just all opinions, and I couldn't make anything of jealousy out of all the post there have been posted. So eaaaasyy ladies and gents! After all we're a group of big fans who respect each other very much, although one has a different opinion on things and that's ok I think!!

 :)
If i was a Fender guitar, Fender painted red...

And apparently with a very wild way of interpretate others thoughts.

WOW, am I so amazed...

Ps: Before someone puts into my mind and sees jelousy again, go and buy glasses. Its dissapointed, and upset what I feel, no jealousy. But if it works for you, good for you.

Seriously though, any updates on that Jarle?  Hope you've not been put off buying one!

Back to more important issues:

Yes the guitar is now discontinued so second hand will be the only way for Jarle.

Any luck Jarle?...

Well, not yet... It's an ongoing project. I am still hoping to get hold of a new one. A friend of mine who lives in Denmark contacted his local guitar store for me, and they actually said that they could deliver a new guitar within a week. I don't know why, but I guess they must have some left. If this is true I guess it is great, but I am arguing a bit over the price with myself and we haven't reached an agreement yet :P If I buy a new one in Denmark and takes it home to Norway it will end up costing me about 2500
It's the end of a perfect day..,.

I don't think jbaent is jealous, I just think he can't understand why somebody would buy 3 of the "same" guitar.

Just like "normal" people can't understand why we would go and see MK play the "same" show multiple times. :)

if one of my post (I think #20) was understood as telling someone to "build his guitar instead of buying one" (like Ingrid said),  well it was totally misunderstood

my intention was never to tell anyone what to do

I was just answering to Foma, about the fact that the neck is the most important thing in an electric guitar, specially on a strat (more than on a LP where the body influences more the sound I believe), and that build a guitar (for people who want to) could be a solution.

It was an alternative, a proposition, not an obligation. I thought it was clear, obvious, but it seems not...(sorry, but I find justifications sometimes a little bit surrealistic.... : ???)

I didn't build my guitar neither. But as Foma was talking about assembling the neck with other parts, I just added some points of view about neck and guitar parts....

BTW, even if Mark didn't build his guitar in early days, he modified it quite a lot regarding PU, rotary switch, etc... more infos on Ingo's blog for peole interested

and sorry to repeat it again, but I'm not jealous either  :)

Moving on.......

Not even close. I received a nice private message from someone telling me a good reason to have three Mk signature guitars that makes sense for an ignorant like me, and that is funny at the same time:

1st guitar, the one designed by Mk, by his specifications
2nd guitar, the one painted in the wrong red colour, that makes it different
3rd guitar, same as the first, but changing the Texas Special for Linsay Fralin pick ups to amend Mk mistake when choosing the pickups   ;D
