All three of mine came from ebay!! One of the most important things is that you check that the serial number 'hang tag' is present with the 'case candy' that way you know its NOT a fake or a made up special!!

I wonder why someone buy three guitars that are exactly the same, same body, same neck, same pickups etc etc, and they have to be the same as MK requested that his replica has to follow his instructions...

A friend of mine bought the MK guitar and after play it, he detected many fails, sold it, and built one by himself improved. Obviously the fails were things that he didnt like it when playing that obviously MK liked...

Serial Numbers !! Limited edition....Btw, I think everyone is free to collect whatever he /she wants  !  ;D ;D

Oh yes, if its because of that... I never thought about buy three very expensive guitars that are the same just for the numbers in the back  ;D
So Long

But again? Why not :hmm? If people feel like doing this, it's their choice ! Whatever the price, everyone does what he/she wants with his/her money !

Also all MK Strat weren't made the same year... When your a real collector you need to have a piece of them all :)
I've heard that some even don't have the initial paint , it's a mistake of manufacturing, can be collector too !
And I've been asked to sell mine just for its serial number... BUT it is not for sale :D

Mark uses MK Strat a lot nowadays, not to just advertise it I suppose. It's a great guitar. The main thing in Strat is the neck anyway, and MK Strat neck is more than GORGEOUS, it's just phenomenal. Frets, woods and radius choices... mmm. It plays itself. I think even better to buy just the neck (it available on eBay from time to time) and assemble the rest by your choices. RegardIng Serial... pfff, you can't play music on serial number! :)

totally agree, so why buy specially a MK strat ? just for Mark's signature on the headstock ?

If you are going to change other parts (body, PU, bridge...) I don't see the point to buy especially THIS neck, or THIS strat.

You can buy another neck, that will we be as gorgeous as you want, even cheaper than this one, and add other specs you want to fit YOUR playing, YOUR tone, YOUR sound, in order to build YOUR guitar

IMHO your guitar has to be with your own specs, not with your idol's specs (that are not his orignals ones anyway)

precision : I'm not talking to somebody in particular, I am saying this in general, I just quoted Foma's sentence as I think it's the point about a strat  :)

just my 2 cents of course, and yes everybody can spend his money like he wants  ;D

Woah, up to me what i spend my cash on isnt it. Dont be jealous it wont get you anywhere >:( for a start one of mine my brother plays and the other two are set up completely differently! I am really pleased with them and I can confirm those including myself who have played them wouldnt want any other strat!! Each to their own at the end of the day.... No need to be rude on here about my pride and joys. Having the cash to invest in these fine guitars seemed the logical thing to do and is. All registration hang tags hand signed make these priceless to me...

I understand you being upset, thought about posting something like "hey you guys are talking about a dear member here, please be aware of that."
I guess it went away with them. Surely no offense meant, Knopflerfan! I like your attitude btw.

Hey Knopflerfan!     If your three strats make you happy, then why not splash out, if you can afford them!   :thumbsup     Myself, I have a less expensive fetish - Menorcan sandals!   At the moment I have twelve pairs in different colours and they make me very happy!   ;D

Yeah, I'll keep in mind the words 'Hang tags' for all my life now :D Jealous is not good, but too much pride is not good too, that's it.

Sorry, I'm a pretty straightforward man. But let's face it... anyway, take my deep apologies, Knopflerfan. I'm a pretty daffy sometimes.

My feeling is that what people do with their money is their own affair and if it makes them happy, well that's OK, so long as they can afford it.  If Knopflerfan is happy with his strats, then I'm happy for him too!   :)
