Where to buy the MK Strat?

I'd like to find an old article about the guitar manufacturing.

It is from a long time guitar teach that explained that there isn't enough good wood to answer the asking for so buying a guitar was always sort of a bit ganblery. That a  high price deluxe finition didn't meant anything because parts of the wood used is not a specially selected one,  an entry model could sound better so the only thing to be done was play them before buying, try several ones and choose the best sounding one.

Oooh Black case?? mine only have brown... Wonder when they stopped issuing brown cases with the MK's?.....

I think after the brown cases they had black/orange and then black/black.

Hey Ingo! It's a great Strat indeed, but I have to ask. Why it so pricey? Almost three grands for a Strat... I bought one for friend of mine for about 1500$ and Jarle just bought it for the same price, I just don't understand.

The price displayed  in my shop includes 19% VAT which buyers from outside the EU do NOT have to pay.

At the biggest and cheapest stores  here in Germany, the last price of the MK Strat was 2,290 Euros (> USD 3,100) , and this was before it was getting rare due to being out of production now.
And don't forget when buying overseas you need to add the costs for shipping, customs and VAT .

I do think as they become rarer on eBay and in guitar shops the average price WILL go up to at least what ingo is asking. Best thing that ever happened to collectors is Fender discontinuing that sig.

For all of you collectors:  in my morning newspaper there is a short article which I will duplicate here.

   "GUITAR FOR SALE:  The sunburst Fender Stratocaster that a young Bob Dylan played at the 1965  Newport Folk Festival when he famously went electric, perhaps the most historic instrument in rock 'n roll, is coming up for auction, where it could bring as much as half a million dollars.
   Though now viewed as changing American music forever, Dylan's three-song electric set at the Rhode Island festival that marked his move from acoustic folk to electric rock was met by boos from folk purists in the crowd who viewed him as a traitor
   The guitar is being offered for sale Dec. 6, Christie's said.
   With a classic sunburst finish and original flat-wound strings, the guitar has been in the possession of a New Jersey family for nearly 50 years.  Dylan left it on a private plane piloted by the owner's late father, who worked for Dylan's manager."

I bought the new one from Willcut Guitars in the US through Ebay. They were very helpfull and there was no problem with shipping to Norway. Thank you Foma for guiding me to this one, and to everybody for helping me and sharing their knowledge about this guitar. I'll let you know when the guitar arrives

Wow. A beauty. Looks like they dropped the price down, usually you can find it for 6,000$+.
