Old concert goer, new procedure
« on: August 18, 2013, 08:07:02 PM »

I''ve been going to concerts for a verrrrrrrry long time, but this is the first time I've ordered tickets without knowing what seats I'm buying.  Would someone please tell me how they determine who gets which seats?   ???  I know I could just wait until I get something official, but the suspense is killing me.................Thanks.

Hi CCLady, and welcome!

Ya, not always comfortable buying seats  during pre-sales without knowing exactly where; however, we usually are told that the seats are within a certain range of seats.  I've only been happy with my seats.  Good luck!    :D  :wave

I've not always been happy with mine.  On the button at the very second they go on sale clicking refresh but still not getting great seats.  I got front row once and thought great!  What I didn't realise until I got there was that they were at the very end of the row and I couldn't see much at all with a crooked neck all I saw was Richard and a speaker all night.  I'd have been happy 20 rows back but in the middle.

To be fair I did get great seats this year for Glasgow where I was in the middle and only 3rd row back.  Pot luck I guess, although invariably I haven't been very lucky considering how quickly I've been on the net to order.  I am not keen on this way of ordering;  you wouldn't buy a car without a test drive.

So it sounds like maybe they just pull seat assignments out of a hat, rather than starting with order #1 gets the first seats in the first row, order #2 gets the ones next to #1, etc.

I guess I'll just have to be patient (there's a first time for everything).

Thanks, and I'll look forward to seeing you at the Wiltern.  It's a great venue, so the show should be fabulous!

No, it's first come first serve, but what they do wrong is when seats are numbered from the side starting number 1, you get seat 1 which is actually a bad seat. All depends on how seats are numbered.
If you check ordernumbers with seats it's really ok. I always sit next to the one who has a higher or lower ordernumber. Can be that some numbers are missing when a lot of presales are on the same time (i.e. number 1 is Vegas, and 2,3,4,5 are LA or something like that so number 1 sits next to number 6)

What concert are you going and what is your ordernumber CCLady?

We have 100155, so there 112 numbers in between but not necessary for LA of course. So I think pretty good seats.

We all were in in the same second I guess, but it's the moment when you have your order placed, so filled all info they needed and do the payment.
Payment took ages compared to the European tour by the way.

:disbelief Still HUGELY irritated that the pre-sale NEVER showed up on IE8 on my desktop (which WAS running on my now-LESS-than-trusty-pc)...

Seriously... when you test applications before implementing such an important application as MK presale, don't you always test multiple browser versions????  :hmm

Nja.  I am still GOING!!!!!!  :wave

IE is no longer recommended, even by Microsoft.
I use Firefox for years, and now I'm going to swap to Chrome more and more.

You are right, websites should work for all browsers, but I'm making some websites myself and I can say that it always works fine on all browsers except IE.
So forget it.  :)
