So, the game is between Diamond/Gator/Sonny/Haul/Speedway, each night choosing three of those five till the end of the tour.

No mentioning about Mr. JJ Cale?

Not sure. Maybe it is not possible to do a "proper" soundcheck when half of the town is able to listen to it? In a closed venue, it is possible to keep a little bit more secret about the soundcheck maybe. I could imagine that it is not for everyone's ears when they rehearse or do little tests... Just a theory. But
I must admit that Holger_MK's explanation is the best so far and brings a new light into the endless setlist discussion...

LE

Thanks LE,
though we do have e.g. the 2001-07-02 Madrid soundcheck at the Ventass Bullring with good sound. Great to hear some (complete) songs played during the soundcheck. And funny to hear that the band and the sound engineer Robbie are having fun about some lyrics from Pyroman. The complete soundcheck lasts about 27 minutes. (OEB)

1.Speedway at Nazareth
2.Drum check
3.Speedway at Nazareth - last part again
4.Some guitar sounds
5.Romeo and Juliet
6.Not much going on
7.Intro of Who's your baby now
8.Silent discussions
9.Intro of Who's your baby now
10.Verse of Who's your baby now
11.Not much going on
12.Harmonica sounds & fun with Pyroman lyrics
13.Various instruments

On earlier tours they did soundchecks even on open air gigs but on this tour they are usually arriving late at the venues, especially for the very hot spanish gigs. The soundchecks are done by the crew. It

You know that Mark don't use to do special mentions in the shows. I can add that, although Mark's guitar is clearly influenced by Cale, it seems that there weren't any relationship between them.
Greetings from Cadiz, Spain :-)

you maybe right ,as Guy mentioned in his forum, they only played together once in 1985 , and that's it.

Mark also did not mentioned Pussyriots at all , and he is against their capturing and is very involved with there well being and works for their release. ( with others).

just got back from Malaga and the concert Saturday great concert , really enjoyed it was great to see sonny live because the other 5 concerts ive missed it ended up being 3 rows from the front by john and it was powerful the Spanish crowds were so full enegery and quiet a young audience I would so compared with the others ive been too,

I managed to catch the sound check (without the band) from the castle above bullring and you could look down on the bullring and see everything , they basically must of plugged in a recording of I dug up a diamond through the speakers until levels were right you could here them changing levels etc, then the when through marks different guitars this must of been 5pm-6ish I think

but great concert loved it
