The Montserrat version of MFN is my all-times favourite, even thought it lack the intro.
There is great power in the guitar riffs, and the MK/EC combination is terrific. I think this was never equalled before or after this concert, every other version of MFN sounds boring to me now (with the possible exception of Wembley'85, very powerful too, and the studio version).

The Montserrar version of Brothers is of course fine, but I would no call it my all-time favourites. I think Mark's voice is too weak on it and that the full orchestra is a bit too much, the song does not need this. I prefer "On the night" and of course Mandela'88 and Wembley'85, this latter one being my favourite for the heavy use of synth (yes I know it is cheesy and too 80's, but I love it nonetheless) and for the powerful ending, never done afterwards !

It exists. I have it in a box somewhere, and I promise to post it to Pottel as a gift as soon as I can be bothered. 

My own theory is that this is the first time Dire Straits were on record, and when they needed a b side for Sultans they just used this recording. But I have no proof of that.

Live, it's the same recording as the b side. The whole album is live.

Doesn't have to be, no demo's have been released officialy for demo's it's just enough to be a genuie demo (and leak  ). Many DS album demo's and OES album demo's have leaked
