Indeed the tours with Bob were the half of MK's solo tours but than again i do not see him going on tour again next year in the US..... Whats the point in doing that?? Perhaps a few more dates will follow on this small october tour......

Krusty tours were shorts tours, just two months and in autumm both, with a colder weather than MK usual tours and with one year between them, so plenty of time to rest.

Today on Guy's forum he answers on a question that they wil be very busy in okt nov and december....
I think they are going on a small tour in the US, perhaps some more dates will follow and than back to the studio........

Don't think so, he answered in earlier questions that it will become clear why the US is such a short tour. That means no longer tour, so it must be something like a DVD (impossible because no-one saw filming), live-CD (doesn't make sense, we have the recordings), a new CD (possible, but in earlier ansers he said that he doubt it will be 2014), other live shows (maybe some charity like september), another tour down under or elsewhere (would be nice surprise for our friends there) or maybe a collaboration-CD (possible I think)

Can't think of other possibilities now
Maybe they are using the 4 'intimate' shows to film a DVD. Would be the perfect setting..and with only 4 shows..plenty of time for proper load-ins and load-outs for all the necessary equipment...and easy to edit later :think

Sorry to hear that people had problems with the presale. But for balance I'd like to say that my personal experience of them has been great.

Is it really "intimate shows" ?? I believe the venue at Long Beach is very big one. Perhaps someone has some more info about the venues Mk is playing in the US.

[/quote]The Terrace Theater is just over 3,000...and that's the largest of the four venues.

The Wiltern holds about 1, 800.  As a comparison, the Hollywood Bowl, where he appeared with Dylan last year, holds about 10 times that number.

Thank you for the update on the venues!
Today on Guy's forum on a question if the four dates in october are it Guy gives as an answer: For now, yes
Could this mean that there will be a few more in the next weeks??
It is certainly not an answer like: Yes, four dates and no more.....

those 4 small venues cannot make it worthwhile for them, can it now?
any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....

Good point! Makes me wonder how much concerts MK must do on a tour to make some money out of it.......

Maybe there is indeed more behind it as Guy implied more or less in the last week or so. Why not: Filming four little intimate gigs, and then decide which one will be put out on DVD, or compile a DVD programme from those four shows, especially for the US market maybe? So there WOULD be another reason for these four shows than "only" additional shows to the Privateering tour...

New development... I bought tickets directly from Live Nation (Ticketmaster) for the Los Angeles show.  I just got an email from Ticketmaster, indicating that for every 2 tickets purchased, that I will receive a copy of the Privateering CD (US addresses only).  The CDs will be released on September 10.  So excited to hear the CD finally  :P

Also super excited about this very generous gift from MK and Universal!!  :clap  ...Us Amis have had to wait for the CD (unless we bought one before they were pulled last year  ;)), so this is quite nice.  Anxious to see what else Universal will do as far as marketing goes...

yes 2-3K each

I love small venues.  It's so much more intimate and personal.  I remembered 2010 GL tour, MK and the band played at 2 venues that are even smaller, about 1,200 capacity.  I also think that since Mark isn't too well known here in  the US, it will be difficult to sell out huge venues.  I have a feeling that more dates will be added. I can't see all the musicians gather for just 4 shows.  Mark usually plays 2-3 dates in the San Francisco/bay area where I am. Perhaps 1 more night at fox theatre,  depending on how well tickets are selling. There's an opening at Fox on Monday's night.
