Thank you Potsy, I would have liked sultans too but you can't have it both ways. if you want him to mix the sets up then you can't hear everything.

unless you are Isaac. :)

I don't really care if there's no sultans but you have to play something that's worth it instead.

Exactly.

Not sure how I feel about Sultans being back.  I had resigned myself to it being sidelined - perhaps forever - certainly for this entire tour.  Now it reappears, but at a show I am not attending.  Don't want to sound selfish but this is what happens when a song of this standing is left out.  The standard set should be built around this song and everyone can go home fully satisfied.

Absolutely agreed.  :clap :thumbsup

Pottel, would be great to meet up - I am bringing my Mum along for what is a belated 70th birthday treat - she is from Germany originally although she has been living in UK since 1969. We were near Ratingen only 2 weeks ago in Mulheim a.d Ruhr - very nice it was too!

Mark plays some truly wonderful stuff in the outro to So Far Away! It's on Youtube.

Hi everyone!   Just returned home from a truly fabulous gig at Liverpool!   It was most definitely up there with the best of them!

Highlights for me were "Seattle" which is one of my favourites from the album and Mark sang it beautifully, with Guy doing the harmonies.   It worked extremely well and I loved it!    When IUTC followed Seattle, I had a feeling that we would get Sultans!   I just can't express how I felt when I heard that familiar "ting ting ting" after R&J and when it happened there was a great cheer from the audience!   I was so happy that my heart was exploding with joy!  The audience went wild and there was great applause!

Other highlights were Gator Blood and a wonderful Marbletown.  Once again the interaction between John and Glenn was wonderful and impressed my brother very much, who accompanied us to this concert.   Then TR, which was played very powerfully and sounded pretty spot on as far as I could tell.  In any case, I enjoyed it tremendously!  "So Far Away" was played with an extended outro, which was unusual and sounded great!   Going Home was next and it was the perfect ending to an amazing concert!  btw I agree that Nigel is underused!

It was really wonderful for me to be back in my old hometown at this wonderful concert, and Liverpool never looked more beautiful and vibrant with the sun shining on the waterfront buildings and the Albert Dock.    I was so proud to be a Liverpudlian and there was a definite buzz about the whole place!

It was great to meet up with the fans again - Ingrid, Isaac and Jeroen and we shared a lovely meal together and drinks after the gig!

Altogether the perfect day!
