The end solo on TR has come in for much criticism lately but imo the overall arrangement this tour of the song is far better than the last couple, even with the first solo missing.

I agree about TR.    I felt the same about the Amsterdam final solo - he seemed to be struggling, but on hearing it again, it was definitely better than I first thought, but nowhere near as good as the 2010 versions.    As I said previously, I can see MK's shows developing into solo only setlists, with the odd DS song played occasionally!   

Yes absolutly totally fed up with Ticket To Heaven played to death... but he should bring Bonaparte back more often

02. Corned Beef City: perfect
03. Cleaning My Gun: personally: boring, monochromatic song
04. Privateering: now this is truly a masterpiece

06. Hill Farmers Blues: better than Antwerp
07. I Dug up a Diamond: better than Antwerp
08. I Used to Could
09. Romeo & Juliet
10. Gator Blood: my brother says it was better than Antwerp, but I didn't notice.

13. Marbletown
14. Speedway at Nazareth: just spectacular
15. Telegraph Road: outro solo was a disaster, never liked the sound of the Pensa on TR, and in this version, virtually no trademark lick that makes TR.
The outro solo just sucked, sorry to say.

17. So Far Away: "Esch-sur-Alzette-town" is too difficult to work into the lyrics, couldn't figure out what he said instead...


So, first MK tour-gig I saw without Sultans. Conclusion: he should ditch SOS on every show, and TR as well. The set stands on its own magnificently. And as MK says: R&J and BIA still work, after all these years. He was right to ditch SOS. Now, it hurts me to say so but he should ditch TR also.

Superval: we weren't able to listen carefully to TR because the f....g security violently forced us to get seated again. So we were disturbed in enjoying the song in it's entire

Yes, I know Ingrid and I'm sure it must have disturbed MK too!    I found a clip of TR in Amsterdam on YT and it sounded much better than I earlier thought, but I can't find it again - seems to have disappeared!

The earlier versions from the tour had less or no mistakes at all, so it must be a concentration thing.  I think the band have just settled into a nice easy rhythm and are all too comfortable now taking it easy.  Milan has a great solo for example.

I just deleted a long post & will just say that I will be disappointed if I don't hear Sultans, whatever else is played, and particularly if it left out in favour of other "overplayed" songs. ( for all the reasons previously stated).  Having said that, I respect Mark's right to choose his setlist and will enjoy whatever he does play.
