Bremen was great, but Antwerp was better. I cannot repeat enough that mark is in a good mood. What I do not get though, is when they have an early flying time slot, why they start their show so late?

And I wonder what it is exactly that mcgoldrick is laughing about with Ian Thomas all the time. Funny thing to watch.

You had a good look at them during the whole show, for me it took my attention especially during " postcards from Paraguay".

Here capture of that song from YouTube and their interaction of that song in your home town.

Glad you liked it Pottel

Was this again Pottel, the same as 2 years ago????
Than it is very strange, they came up on stage now at 20:40 and off at 22:30.
If they start at 20:30 they could play a full sett. Pretty strange if Antwerp again gets short set imo, don't you think?

I like the "Diamond" and I was sure that it will come a time when the setlist will be more static, but the song that changes, that we can say its "Song number 6", I dont like it to change...

I explain myself. When the changing song was "Yon two crows / Kingdom of gold", it was fine, two new songs, both of them with his own great feeling live. If you dont presence one, you will listen the other. And if you attend two or more shows in a row, the better. But if that songs are not played because thats the one that changes, and you get Tupelo or Diamond... Well, that are rare songs but you are missing the greater ones of the tour. Is nice to listen to a raritie, but the price is quite high.

I will probably use the song 11, in this case "Haul away", that I love too, but its not so essential in the tour, as the changing one.

Its a difficult thing really, to please everyone, isnt it?

I like both Diamond and Tupelo, but they are very similar to each other and if I had to choose between them, I would go for Tupelo - the solos are just a bit more special to me.   I hope I get to hear KOG and YTC somewhere along the way too!   :)

"Diamond" is one of my all time fave and did have very few opportunities to hear it live (actually two times) so I would have been delighted if I was there.

With only 16 songs performed in less than 2 hours and such a catalogue to choose from you can't please everybody.

Especially if several songs are toward or over the 10 minutes long.

So another reason to think that current Marbletown is a waiste of time.

Early 2008 version was quite a fun shorter and strong version, then it evolved and it wa still fun, although the "new part", although highly entertaining, is something that is a very common heard on the folky scene. Now extended that long it had become to "boring" state.

Same boring feel for all the first half of TR, a real sleeper part culminating with thin Richard solo where it  needs something loud and strong. Just have to wake when Mark switch to the Pensa with the hope he will not f.ck the final solo...

Hey, Marbletown is the only extended stuff, like TOL used to be, so let's keep it that way ! :)
As for TR, I like Istanbul a lot, despite the "karaoke mode": energetic, with a bit of synth, fantastic solo, feels back to 2005.
Even the karaoke mode is a bit better than usual: no guital, but Jim' tries his best to make up for it jamming the piano ! :)
