I think the policy is changing setlists, has nothing to do with  being dissatisfied or not
I see that, but I still dont get why a milestone like Sultans is ditched..it has always been a core foundation in MKs set..at least in my opinion
..which is not mark'S opinion. simple as that.
any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....

Sultans isn't just a milestone - it's the very foundations of his career.

I don't feel like Sultans is more crucial than i.e. OUATITW or Water of Love
The way he sings and plays guitar
            Still brings me to tears

Show start: 21.12

1. What it is
2. Corned beef city
3. Privateering
4. Father and Son
5. Hill Farmers Blues
6. Back to Tupelo
7. I used to could
8. Romeo & Juliet
9. Song for sonny liston (no Sultans)
10. Postcards from Paraguay
11. Haul Away
12. Marbletown
13. Yon Two Crows!! (instead of speedway, surprising)
14. Telegraph Road

I'm definitely loving all these changes. I guess it was the time to just break that old auto pilot mindset from the past tours and just amaze us with all these songs.

I always thought Sultans had to be the last song (like in early gigs)

Still... :hmm He has himself uttered the opinion that these songs are milestones in peoples lives, and as dmg says..it is actually the very foundation of his career..I expect Sultans and would be devastated if its not played, although I heard it a thousand times before and numerous times live..Its just something about it and I think the majority of regular MK fans would expect to hear it as well

i would soooooooooooo not mind.

These are HIS songs, not ours. He is free. He can do what he wants. We should be happy to have the opportunity to listen to his excellent live shows. Better do not harden on these milestone thing. It is great that he left the autopilot status behind him! The surprises we might feel during the show with an unusual song popping up must be so much greater than just be able to listen to the 10.000th rendition of a song that we all have bazillions versions from on our hard disk...
