Where ? When ? Did he hit too much on songs like Sailing to Philadelphia or Brothers in arms ? Rudiger ? The mist covered mountains (Local hero intro in 2005) ? True love will never fade ? Piper to the end ?

No, the difference with Danny is that he knew WHEN to hit hard. But he was versatile too.

Maybe during the 2002 shows, which were clearly amazing I do think.

And I didn't mind too much because Danny made some songs grow in intensity, check the Brothers in arms final, which is sublime IMO, though I can admit this is a matter of taste after all.

Horsepower after the first half of the 2005 saved tour? None at all, he backed off cause he is a smart guy too.

No, the difference with Danny is that he knew WHEN to hit hard. But he was versatile too.

In terms of "hitting", it is of my opinion that DC played songs like f. ex Sultans more soft and groovy than IT does, he is very straightforward in a "hard" way and to some extent I feel that he lacks some of DCs feel. No offence though, an excellent drummer but I would still prefer DC..

He was never the piano man, though.
It is also a matter of taste. No need to argue.

I argue with the fact that the similar setlists between 2005 and 2010 - with the exception of the tour with Emmy - have nothing to see with such or such band members.

Agreed, it's indeed MK who decides about the songs, that's absolutely right. Maybe Guy assisting.

It's only that I've never got over the feeling that he had to adapt the setlist to DC's style.
Again: I'm not questioning his skills, I'm talking about his style. Live, that is. Studio is always different.
And I'll never forget what MK said about drummers in Boothbay (and what a set he played there!)

I absolutely prefer DC at drums. It's a matter of: I didn't notice drums at all till DC. So he really did something which has  touched me.
I only heard one concert complete so far, the first one, but I definately prefer DC. I don't like cimbals that much. I do like the strong, and also soften, drumming of DC. Time of PW and CC is far behind us. I didn't really listen to their drumming, as said before, the first one making me aware of drums was DC. So he will be the one for me forever I guess. Falling in love with music is really a matter of taste.

He was IN PHASE with Mark. Same feeling, same class, same everything.

Same as you, I was just OK with drums prior DC but the very first time I heard him live - coincidently his first gig ever with Mark on the drums - it all changed. He had me, I never looked back since then and I still don't understand why the f**k he is not in the band anymore.
