great song indeed...

...if only that deafening cat killing falsett intermezzo wasn't there...  :disbelief  :disbelief
was hoping for a better live version
The way he sings and plays guitar
            Still brings me to tears

By the way: if you listen very carefully to the solo it sounds somewhat like 'can't be satisfied', very nice. And man on a track: the intermezzo is great! Very bluesy and it sounds a lot better than on the album with a strat:-)

If you say so...  ::)

That deafening cat killing falsett intermezzo is the CORE of the song - it is so much Elmore James that it was the biggest surprise (positive) from any Mark Knopfler recording since... Calling Elvis. Or something like that... I think it fits perfectly well! I hope the Mark will work out his solo a little bit more...
Cool to have a video of this...

Yuk, that 2010 pattern shirt is back...  :-X

liked the blue one much more! This can't be! Will write to Guy immediately...

 ;)

LE

I don't mind this shirt.  It's soft & faded (been worn a lot) & works with the black tee.  Some of his shirts look too big and long (or stiff).  I thought he looked good in the blue shirt he wore the first night and it was tucked in.....so we could see his butt :)

Oh, LE...  Don't be silly...  Mark looks "NICE" in this shirt  ;)
and, JZ, AMIT Fashion Critic...  right on  :thumbsup -- there are positives in both shirts....   :-*

Thanks JulienFlamand!   Gator Blood was really great and I liked it much more than the album version, even the screeching falsetto sounded good!  I would be happy to hear this one at one of my shows!    :thumbsup

Am I the only one who finds the kingdom chorus endlessly boring? And that solo is not finished yet, somehow leads to nowhere....
any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....
