Richard writes in todays Notes From The Road that there are some nice surprises in the set. I hope he is right :)

I've got a good feeling about this upcoming set and the tour in general with sax especially.  Hopefully it'll get rid of some of these awful flutes, pipes and other crap that I've had up to here [touching forehead]!

Maybe the nice surprises are just the return of MFN...
As for sax, if it is only for the UK shows, it won't be drastic... no, I will not fligh to Glasgow just for that ! :)
Yeah, I also have nonetheless the feeling that this tour will be special... with a DVD/BD in the end, at last.... so my biggest fear is no TR... I would like so much an alternate TR on video... As much as I like Alchemy, this is the only one we've got officially !

That's too bad as I'd like to have met up.  We may even have Phil Cunningham in Glasgow like in 2010 as well... :think

But dosen't Richard seem to be playing with a pick in the photo with Mark and Nigel (I could be wrong)? He is finger picking on Sailing to Philadelphia...

difficult to see clearly...

but you are right, he is finger picking on STP

Now THAT sounds realistic ! Mark always had the fantasy to ressurect OES - that would be fantastic news !
Would be glad to meet you too of course, but UK sounds difficult.. .won't you come to Paris ? ;)

Paris is one of my most favourite cities.  Been there a few times and I will be back!  Maybe next tour. :think

Wasn't it the tenor sax that Chris used for OES?  Don't think it would really matter.

Could the song we are talking about be I Used To Could? Mark on Strat and Richard on that acoustic - same as for the Dylan tour. Nigel replaces the harmonica from the album version with his sax...

Edit: I see now that this has been said several times during the last pages, but I think that's the answer.. Let's hope for On Every Street anyway :)
It's the end of a perfect day..,.

Let us hope;  I don't think I could stand IUTC again. :disbelief

Just to remember, this was the set list from the Ranch Rover gig, where Nigel Hitchcock first appeared:

Walk Of Life, Sailing To Philadelphia, Romeo & Juliet, Sultans Of Swing, Money For Nothing, Brothers In Arms, Local Hero, So Far Away.

I have no idea on which songs the saxophone was used, but I am pretty sure they rehearsed the same song with Nigel as played then - and therefore my
guess would go for the Local Hero, So Far Away combo. Richard's acoustic seems to be the most interesting hint...

STP already ruined with flute since 2008. Can't be worse than that, so why not sax on it?

2005 remains definitive version to my ears with Guy keys on it - just perfect.
The only way to make it sound better could be a real pedal steel - and I am not certain of that as you can't exaggerate perfection.

I love the 2001 version on the TRD bonus disc, and Boothbay, and studio version (best tone IMHO)
I like 2001 versions because of 3 guitars with acoustic and electric rhythm guitars
