It only had one signature!  Now it has two.

But why?

Wider availability maybe.  Secondhand, they are becoming quite hard to find now in mint condition.

To me, that's not a strong enough reason in itself.

Maybe if there was some kind of Dire Straits retrospective, or a reissue of a regular album with bonus tracks, or a Fans' Choice album, or that kind of thing, but, otherwise, I really can't see the point.

Would there really be sufficient demand for it? Would there be many sales outside of fan circles?  Especially if a U.S. release were unlikley at present.

Your best hope may be to get the Japanese record company to do something. I have no idea how well DS/MK have sold in Japan but the they seem to operate a bit more independently of their holding company than the European sunsidiaries.

If the record company were to be persuaded by a petition on the grounds of making this material more generally available, then I suspect they'd go for a download version. (Maybe. that's already available. I don't know)

Would it be hard for a bunch of people to ask from the record company the rights to issue a limited edition CD containing these two titles together? I remember that in some countries, the  record companies gave permission for special releases, yet limited in quantities and in circulation time. (I have 1 promo record from Polygram, that contain TBTP, that advertise on demand pressing and release for special clientele of specially chosen songs for special events, such as a  promo for another product, conventions, etc.)  Maybe we can all chip in, or use our contacts and produce such a release, if this still stands. And I guess it would be much easier with CD.
Come on, it is not funny anymore.
