I think KTGC actually has a number of good songs, but I just don't think Mark has the right voice for many of them. A lot of his songs only he can sing, especially classic DS songs, but there are songs where he just doesn't have the register, "punch" or emotional impact to do them justice. He may sing better now compared with earlier times, but he still isn't a singer.

I don't think MK himself would say he is a singer, in fact I'm sure he has already said so, but I love his voice as it is, especially on ODR.

Exactly!
MK's voice, his timbre, fits perfectly with his story, his songs.

I totally agree with you! I also love Mark's voice so much!

I think his singing style and voice are just as unique as his guitar playing and songwriting.
You could say that he has created his own work of art and for me that is just perfect.
This is all the heaven we've got, right here where we are in our Shangri-La.

Yes, those are your opinions, folks, just like I have mine. I just tried to explain why I feel a number of Mark's songs don't work for me.

I was watching Bosch last night (great show) and there was a very emotional season finale... who starts singing? MK, doing What a Wonderful World. His singing was great on that track.

You mean from that Chris Botti album? I have to respectfully disagree. Mark flat out ruined it  ;D
