« on: February 06, 2013, 11:48:35 AM »
BLACKMORE NIGHTS, a mediaeval minstrel group "starring" Ritchie Blackmore is coming to a local venue. Anyone evr seen them? What are they like? Worth the ticket price?

Here's the notification of the show:

Blackmores Night, the Renaissance Band of Minstrels, features legendary guitarist Ritchie Blackmore (formerly of Deep Purple and Rainbow) and award winning singer/songwriter Candice Night and their international band of talented musicians.
Performing on acoustic guitars, mandolins, mandolas, as well as electric guitars, Ritchie

Blackmore had abandoned his rock projects with Deep Purple and Rainbow long ago to play this medieval music which I consider quite boring...

Its like if MK abandon his guitar playing to play celtic songs...

Oh, wait!

But, apparently, it is a requirement of Blackmore that those audience members in the first two rows wear mediaeval-style clothes with the warning that those who do not, will be moved to other parts of the venue. Now, I'm not sure what Celtic clothes would be like (though I am familiar with Celtic-style jewellery) but at least MK doesn't attempt to dictate what his audience members should wear.

It sounds like I should give this a miss.
