« on: January 17, 2013, 05:23:30 AM »
I came across a channel on Youtube called Oldmusiclibrary.  There are a bunch of great music collection from variety of artists including DS and MK.  Also B-sides.   I think it's pretty cool especially when you just want to hear DS/MK stuff on your PC.

Great find BTW.

dmg,

What about "Long Highway " that you don't like ? I'm quite fond of it.  I think "Camerado" must be my most favorite B-sides song.

Zzz...  My infamous, long-standing love affair with Long Highway! ;D  Truly one of his most boring songs;  pace, lyrics, same repetitive guitar lick...  Sooo boring. ::)  The only plus point is that it is a great cure for insomnia! ;D

The Long Highway is beautiful and should have been the final track on the STP record. It's a great farewell tune.

Last song on a record is probably best because if it was the first song then people wouldn't hear the rest of it due to their state of sleepiness. ;D

It sure is a farewell tune;  farewell career! ;D

I know I'm in a minority on here because I've mentioned this many times before.  Can't understand the love for this one at all.  I think I'm the only one on here who doesn't like it. :hmm

Maybe the lice has something to do with it!
It is not that bad! But I wouldn't call it one of my favourites either!
Come on, it is not funny anymore.

They used to play it at the end of Billies gigs so that Ronnie Scott's could sell more drinks to revive the punters in order to get them out the door! ;D

I think Long Highway is a great live tune too, and I love the lyrics: The spirits call from way beyond. Lord I may not disobey. Someone said when Redbud Tree was released that it had the same sort of "haunting" felling as Long Highway, and I fully agree... There is something about that melody :)

Pottel man, you have already all these recordings! You don't need those youtube clips! Just mp3s put in some sort of order. (with covers and interactive menu!)
Come on, it is not funny anymore.

I've always had a liking for What Have I got To Do. Almost all of his B sides were better than some that made the cut on his albums.

Sorry for going off topic for a minute...Did anyone ever hear No Wonder he's Confused? It was recorded at the GH sessions but never made the album. There were 2 or 3 demo versions of it IIRC, doing the rounds a few years back. It certainly had potential and I would love to have heard the finished version.  Secondary Waltz was another recorded then, completely different from the version he recorded a few years later...... both c**p.  Does anyone know if Batting for England ever saw the light of day, It was another recorded in 94/95.
