I'm surprised that makes you sad, it seems as though MK's own stagnant set lists are always defended here.
Maybe Bob knows Mark's a 'perfectionist' and is trying to let him really nail a few songs ;)

Last nights pairing sounds really sweet, nice lines by Knopfler when Bob gave him room.

Whew. What a night. I was escorted to the Century Link venue by friends to see Mark Knopfler and Bob Dylan in concert. I'd rather see Mark at the Holland Center - more suited to his way of doing things - but I'll go to see him wherever he i...s. I have to say, it was one of the best performances I've ever seen from him, either in person or on DVD. He was superb, and his musician posse was wonderful too. He did a lot from his new album "Privateering", but some older material as well. My section was mainly MK people, many not there for Dylan at all (in fact, some left when he came on later) and mostly people in my age bracket, but there were an encouraging amount of youngsters there also. Then Dylan came on, and I must say - thought the musicianship of his band was also terrific - well, I did not understand one word Bob sang or said throughout the show. He should have quit smoking about 30 years ago. If a dinasaur could speak English, I'm pretty sure that's what it would sound like. Howsomeever, for my first concert since 2010, it could not have been a more magical evening.

Posted on Facebook on Sunday, 4 November. I used a photo by Jeroen Gerrits to better illustrate the review. One of the more dynamic and well-received concerts by MK that I have attended. Pretty universally MK was thought to be WAY better than Dylan that night!!!   JEC

The final solo of Kingdom of Gold from this show is SUPERB

Have you heard the solo of KOG from Grand Prairie yet? With good quality bud ear phones and at maximum volume (and eyes closed) I was there!  :clap
I think it is the best live lyrical guitar playing from Mark in more than 10 years. The tone he gets from that Pensa is as he asked for it to be from Rudi  in JI's Guitar Stories. It has qualities of both fender and Gibson to my un-trained ears.
