I don't know... I think he'll look better than this even in 30 years  :-\ But what do I know about arts anyway  :think
I guess the technique is ok ;). Oh, and there is resemblance so that's at least something.
...Well, he's a big star now but I've been a fan of his for years. The way he sings and plays guitar still bring me to tears...

Pretty good, but very ageing and I think the eyes are a bit dead.  The real MK, standing next to the painting, looks much younger and his eyes smile.

This is oil... you take baby, draw it with oil and he'll be like 30 years old Mark :D

What about eyes? On the picture he's sad, on the photo he's kind of proud to pose as I think.

I think this thing really stand out from all this portraits taken from the 'stock' MK photos, which we all already know anyway.

I agree, the painting looks very ageing indeed. Look at Mark standing next to it, his face absolutely looks younger than in the painting........
Oh well, maybe I just don't know too much about art........

Maybe it's because he looks a little concerned in the painting.  I think he looks in a more relaxed state in the sketch.

Well, as it's Halloween tonight, here's a gothic thought . .

Maybe MK will keep this picture in his attic and it will age for him, while he will stay just as he is.....  whoo-hoo-hoooo!!!    ^v^   ^v^   :o
Bacon, egg and sausage, double chips and beans . . . . oh yeah!

Wow, its heroic scale alone is impressive; I did not expect it to be so big! Formally, I think the color choices are great. The subdued yellows of the face cause the saturated blues of the eyes to stand out intensely. I agree that it does make him look too old and worn, but that may come merely from all those lines created by the loose and aggressive application of paint which, on the bright side, also creates a dynamic sense of movement. That may just be the artist's technique that would cause anyone's face to look more rugged. Perhaps it wasn't the best decision for the painter to give him such an insecure and anxious look on his face, but I have to admit that the eyes have a real psychological presence to them -- something that's pretty tough to create in a portrait.
