Having listened to the earlier shows and now the latest shows I am not sure Mark and band have improved during the tour - the best performance for me was on 9th October at Alberta which was right at the beginning of the tour, full of energy and some great guitar and vocal work from MK. The later gigs sound too relaxed and almost lazier. The guitar solos on KOG and YTC don't seem to have developed into much either. What are your thoughts people?

My favourites are Saskatoon, Vancouver, San Francisco, Sacramento, Omaha, Broomfield and, finally - Montreal, which I absolutely love!   So, I think there have been some pretty great shows throughout, so far!  I have my favourites from each of the shows and "Beyond Here..." is wonderful from Omaha as is THC from St Paul!   There have been some great versions of SFSL and HFB and Marbletown has been amazing just about everywhere!  Privateering, CBC and Haul Away have been consistently good throughout too.

Occasionally, on some songs, I think MK  sounds a bit tired and weary - like mixing up/forgetting some words, etc,  but then he pulls himself up on the next song and all is well again.   I think you're probably correct, navgav, that the solos on KOG and YTC haven't developed more during the tour - my personal favourites of KOG are from SF (goosebumps time!) and Omaha, but Sonny, in most cases, has been breath-taking and it isn't even a song I have liked too much before!

I have enjoyed Mark and the band's performances on this tour with Bob much more than in 2011 and I am pleased that STP was dropped, because it was becoming a skipper on every show, for me, last year.  BIA is becoming a bit of a skipper now, too, I'm sorry to say!

Now I'm looking forward to hearing some great recordings from the last few shows - thanks to the kind people at the gigs!    :)

here here!! Lets remember to thank the wonderful people who are kind enough to record these shows, so that we are even in the lucky position to comment on each performance. I agree Marbletown and SFSL have been great this tour and overall more enjoyable than 2011....roll on 2013 when hopefully we'll get SOS back and fingers crossed with renewed energy.
