The reason he held on to his first guitar is because he had slept with it! Precious!
Come on, it is not funny anymore.

And they play the "got to have something"  inspiration tune with Steve, at his 1937 national!
Come on, it is not funny anymore.

John is playing "can't find my way home" with the Monteleone.

WOW, as you understand, I just finished watching the Documentary. It should have been at least twice the length and I would still ask for more! Of course as LE mentioned, very few new info, but seeing the men behind the guitars was as thrilling as the first time! I would expect more guitar playing and more stories, but there are not many things you can do in 45 minutes, alas.
Together with "A life in songs", are the best pieces on MK I have seen.
Let's see who's next at the Guitar stories show. Eric Clapton maybe?
Come on, it is not funny anymore.

Mark is very talkative and speaks much faster than in earlier days. Although always telling the same things  ;D I like that a lot. Just imagine you get into an argument with him, I guess it would be difficult to keep the last word in that case...

I think this was on a par with the Phil Cunningham one, both of which are better than A life In Songs IMO.  I felt that came across as rather more of a promotional thing and very contrived.  The other two were a little more spontaneous, perhaps as Mark was being interviewed by friends.  As I said, just a personal opinion.

What I liked from this video is that from introducing each guitar, they went to places that are associated with the guitars, except with the Gibson Les Paul, that its introduced at British Grove, which is a pitty because that part loose the magic...

Great to see the music shop where MK used to went when child to look at the guitars when living in Newcastle, the Pathways Studios where DS recorded their demo, great visit to Steve Phillips gig to chat about the National, so great when they go to the Rudy

I guess they could have gone to Montserrat for the LP section, but probably wouldn't be the same...

It exists on dvd at the knopflertk tracker, but the only one released was the a life in songs one, but edited and mixed with the Privateering EPK intro in a very miserable way...

Yes, jbaent, I have read your review. Too bad, but with the pace we are moving now, I might not be able to see it in this format anyway, so I will be having the initial joy of the TV broadcast.  This one , I had to put the kids to bed and then watch it and the voice was really turn down.  Thanks for the tracker info, I will look for it.
Come on, it is not funny anymore.

There is a book of the DONT LOOK BACK documentary, geordie, and it gives the locations. The page reads:

NEWCASTLE
Dylan stands in front of a guitar store that is filled with electric guitars. Sign on window advertises "Subtteranean Homesicck Blues"
DYLAN: Look at this guitar, man.
PENNEBAKER: Which one?
DYLAN; This one right here. Do you believe that guitar? They don't have those guitars in the States, man. They're incredible. Twenty grand?

Pennebaker is the cinematographer and I assume "Twenty grand" is Dylan misreading a sign for 200 Pounds (in the old money, with shillings and pence, not just pence) or maybe 200 Guineas.

If you watch DONT LOOK BACK, the next two interviews in the film ("The Science Student" and "The High Sherriff's Lady") were also in Newcastle and the sequence ends with a verse from "Don't Think Twice" at Newcastle City Hall, before cutting to his arrival at Victoria Staion in Manchester. The out-takes include a  sequence where he leaves Central Station in Newcastle to catch the Manchester train.

And "The Science Student" became the co-owner of the Chrysalis record company.
