Didnt he open with Cannibals during KTGC tour, so it could be from an older album.

Something needs to be done re setlists - but i fear changing things would be akin to changing the course of a glacier....

Hi,

It would be great to hear " I Think I Love You Too Much " as an opener  ;)

I think " Corn Beef City " would be a good solution too  :)

if thats the case perhaps we can lobby the Icelandic Government to send a message on our behalf to PCM.....but seeing what a hash they have made of their banking system....maybe not! ;D

I think Why aye man had been played enough times. Any suggestions which tune from the new album should be the opener on the next tour?

For me it's: Corned beef city  (for a powerful, rocky start)

What dou you all think?
I wish WAM was played more often. Didn't get it in my last 10 shows.  :'(

Will be there in 2 weeks, so can start a lobby ;-) No with glaciers they didn't do much, except some walls to prevent them from going the wrong way. But I saw some movies about the vulcano eruption in 1973 at Heimaey, a little island south from Iceland. It's a fishermens island. The eruption was huge, all people were evacuated. About 100 men stayed and tried to save as much as possible. They managed to stop the lavaflow before it closed the whole harbour, which would mean the end of the living of 1000's of people.
Except banking, some of the bankers weren't good at it as we know now, they really are inventive people.

Whereelse will you find a country that manage to build a bridge (of about 70 meters) which was flooded away in 6 days. In the Netherlands governments would have been debating about it for at least 6 weeks ;-)

I have a feeling that this 2013 will be special.
First, it will be just 30 years after the Alchemy concert in Hammersmith Odeon. Maybe a good time for "Alchemy II" and a seminal live release, to celebrate a 17-year old solo careeer ?
Second, Mark has shown more energy than ever in 2011... maybe time for a return to the faster pace of DS/96/01/05 concerts ?
Third... well forgive me I am getting crazy and borderline here, I know... but, 2013 will be the (sad) 20th anniversary of Mark's father passing away.
Since we all know that rumour of a possible explanation for Mark not playing TOL anymore i- because the song would have been his dad's favourite... could it be that Mark would think than 20 years of moaning is enough, and that's the best way to honor his dad's memory would be to play TOL live again ? would'nt have to be the crazy bullistic versions we had in 83/85/91... but maybe just a short, simple, intimate one... like the Old Grey Whiste test one on Alchemy DVD.... And since the other explation for Mark not playing TOL anymore was that Mark would not have the kind of energy that this song demands anymore... given the fact that he is now energetic again... all this combined... could this mean the return of TOL and the release (at last) of a Blu-Ray ?
Maybe I'm just crazy after all.

I think/hope this could be a nice setlist. A few changes but i think after all these years the setlists need some.

Corned Beef City
Setting me up
What it is
Sailing
Privateering
Yon two Crows
Hill Farmer Blues
R&J
Sultans
Marbletown
Kingdom of Gold
So far from the Clyde
Telegraph
-----
Seattle
Brothers in Arms
Money For Nothing
Local Hero

Everything is possible but i have my doubts about So far from the clyde, Seattle and Money.... :-\

Money for nothing can be left out for me, same as Setting me up. No chance they will be in I guess.
WII and STP should be replaced too, heard them already a lot all those years

But remember that HFB and a few unexpected others did see the light of the stage on 2008 (and 2010 as well).  The one I still don't expect is TOL but who knows?

Actually very surprised to hear that MFN was played again in full.

Well, he has played TR since 1996 at every concert now and you get the impression he wasn't satisfied with it (hence it's exclusion from the Madrid download) so perhaps TOL isn't such a bad shout after all...

Actually TR was also excluded:
- From the "On the night" release, even on DVD
- From the "Sultans of Swing" best-of and even from the Live Bonus CD from 96 !!
- From all the small live releases since then (Why Aye Man single, TRD Bonus CD)...

Does Mark that the only time he got it right was Alchemy ?? no doubt that this is a fantastic version, but this is not at all the only one... an alternative one would be welcome....

Hi,
It would be great to hear " I Think I Love You Too Much " as an opener  ;)
Surely, great tune. But somehow those "B-sided" songs are never on set lists  ::)

But for me (even as repeating as it would be) Border Reiver is, and will remain best opener, ever.
