Which Privateering-song as opener on tour?
« on: September 06, 2012, 09:49:58 PM »
I think Why aye man had been played enough times. Any suggestions which tune from the new album should be the opener on the next tour?

For me it's: Corned beef city  (for a powerful, rocky start)

What dou you all think?

It's usually a new one and has to have some pace to fire up the audience.  I'm inclined to agree that Corned Beef would do it and he's opened with slide before:  Right Now in '06 and Donegan in the '07 showcases sometimes.  It would give Jimmy a chance to shine too!

The set list for the tour will be -

Corned Beef City
What It Is
Sailing to Philadelphia
Coyote
Haul Away
Hill Farmer Blues
Romeo and Juliet
Sultans of Swing
Done With Boneparte
Privateering
Marbletown
Speedway at Nazareth
Telegraph Road
Brothers in Arms
So Far Away
Seattle

Continuing the "insert new song in the old setlist here" tradition. You heard it here first  ;)

I bet you're not far off there!  I don't think they'll do Coyote this time around though, great though it was.  Let's just hope you're wrong because I'd love to hear some others from the album like Submariner and Bluebird.

We can make polls :
1. Which songs of the new album would you like to hear
2. Which songs of the old setlists do you want to go out

People have to think carefully before they answer.
If we have a lot of replies I will mail it to Guy by the end of the year (that's a long time before rehearsals).
It won't help I think, but who knows. When we have real good numbers of people joining the poll.

I would say people can choose 3 songs In and 3 songs Out.
Only one vote per member.

Someone has time to set up those polls?

I think there's a better chance if the selection is realistic. Let's face it, MK's had a core of backbone songs ever since the GH tour. (I'm one of those who actually like DWB, I only grew tired on the joke with Richard when I heard it the 5th time or so :)

I'd like to see two polls. One where we can name which song would be the best starter and one where we get to pick three songs from Privateering that we want to see in the setlist.

But I guess there's always someone who wants to see a poll about which poll to choose  ;D

edit: oh, and Corned Beef as a starter for sure! (and Beef Wellington for the main course....)

And the winner(s) wins  ???to be defined ???

who would have guessed Cannibals would be the opener for the KTGC tour ?
