Travelodge??!! Cheap and nasty me thinks!

We are staying for two nights at the Kensington Premier inn (Near Earls Court tube station) and a mere 20 mins walk to the RAH. A few pounds more than travelodge but you get a decent nights sleep with breakfast a few pounds extra in the morning....

Our stay for the first two nights cost us

Last time I was at the Travelodge Old Street everything was ok. The saying you get what you pay for isn't always true if you go to London. Btw, the Hoxton is another hotel I'd like to try the next time I'm in town. Very good critics.

But the journey from this travelodge to the RAH really sucks, this time I'll try a taxi.

Country Bumkin that I am, I will be happy if the way back to the Hotel after the show will not turn out to be an adventure - London is another dimension as let's say our German large cities.... So you very easy underestimate distances and range.... When Superval wrote that the Premier Inn is within an easy walking distance (1 mile) to the RAH, that was crucial. Not that one cannot get lost on a one-mile-walk as well...  :lol

I am always in for a cheaper solution, but balancing a good night sleep, not too complicated way back and even nice company, the expense is alright with me!  :)
They seem to have very good beds!!

Don't worry, LE - we won't get lost!   There will be quite a few others, apart from me, you, my husband and knopflerfan walking back to the hotel, I'm sure!     ;)

Ha Ha, Val,  :lol

I am sure I will have time enough on Sunday to explore the surroundings.... I rather thought of any 40 minute tube travels into some distant areas later at night ....

This will be an excellent trip for sure, so many AMITers to meet, I am looking very much forward to it..., ah, yes, and Mark has to do a good show, too!   :D

Yes, LE, good point. I've done this before and it really should be more comfortable if you'll only have to walk a mile or something like that.

Well, I always analyse this according to logistics... Usually I choose my hotel near the train station I will use to come and leave London, and that is linked with the airport as well, and with my flights schedule.

Normally, unless you choose zone 2 or further, any areas with easy links to the South Kensington line are perfect.

So apart from myself, Mrs Knopflerfan, Superval & Hubby + Love expresso for a matter of interest who else is joing us at the Kensington Premier inn for the first two nights (27th & 28th May 2013)?

Will compile a list so we can all meet up and go as a group.....

When time comes nearer we will also organize a fanmeeting in London as usual.
So no matter where you stay, we can all meet ;-)

That would be most excellent!
The list thing was meant more along the lines of walking to/from the RAH from the Hotel so everyone knows where they are going..... ;)
