Hi Val. I searched for this on Wednesday to no avail  ???, but have noticed that when you respond to a fellow member's post, and click on the 3 buttons mentioned the member's values for Karma, etc increase. So it appears to be a non-written positive response or afirmation  ;D to the posting. A bit like the emotiocons can add an emotional intention to the printed word.

Since Dec 15th -2005 we have the Karma and Smite at the forum of my friend Fred too and this was his explanation at that time  ;)

"If you're wondering about the Karma, Smite thing next to people's names, it's a way to register approval or disapproval of people's posts. It's not my idea, but something that comes along with the board. If you like what someone is posting, then give them karma. If you really dislike their post, then smite them. Both keep adding up. You can only do one per hour. "

In the beginning we used it often and it was fun, to give a person Karma (exalt) or ...........naaahhh we didn't Smite anybody, all the people are too friendly there. I am sure we don't have to use it here either with all the wonderful friends!  ;D

Yup it worked!!

Hey IF Mark, Guy or one of the others of the band would post here, then I am sure they would get a LOT of karma's :o .................Ooohhhh don't think I would be jealous then! They deserve it and I would be one of the first to give them one and two and three and ........... ;D

Yes, I'll put a thread soon about this in the "Start Here" forum so no one is confused about it. The main idea is already explained in this thread. It's built into the forum, but it can be disabled. It's just a little bit of "internet fun". :P

What do you think about just "exalt" and not "smite"   That keeps it positive.   If you don't agree with me, I'll smite you all.   ;D
But a spoonful of forgiveness
Goes a long, long way
And we all should do our best
To get along
