Hi all. I was kind of hoping the download would be of the upcoming tour. I wouldn't mind waiting another year or so! But saying that, the Get Lucky tour was pretty decent; I have 4 concerts from it. I think they are by Simfy but not sure. I'm trying to Catch Them All! So can anyone point in in the right direction?! Offically or :/
By the way, is Piper the only Get Lucky track on the Simfy releases?
Cheers x

No, he played Border Reiver as an opener EVERY time, and at some shows (2 or 3 simfy shows I believe) have Cleaning My Gun, London May 30th has Monteleone, Hamburg June 16th has Get Lucky... I am pretty sure that's it.

He used to play some other tracks during the US part of the tour, but Simfy started recordings with London May 30th 2010, not so much set list changes from there on.

 ;)

Thanks for the reply Pottel! I'm hoping there will be a similar way of buying soundboard recordings from this tour. Do you know where I can download/buy recordings from 2010? I'd happily share the 4 I have. Would like to hear a soundboard of Get Lucky!
Loving Privateering, by the way! It's a grower!

Maybe you have to go through a 1000 posts, but I reported the setlists by phone to others live a couple of times and they put it here

Yeah I've been following Bruce on SPL by refreshing the page every few minutes! Good to know people like yourself think of others and make that extra effort. It really is great to find forums like this where people all like the same music. My girlfriend hates Mark Knoplfer and can only just tolerate Bruce! Hard times!

The new arrangement with the cittern was only made-up because Mark can't play it properly any more and he knows it.  We need to face facts that great songs like this that require power, energy and fast playing are not within his capabilities any more. :(

Wow, I sure hope you aren't serious, dmg.  Any time an artist performs a song for the better part of 30 years, I think that new arrangements are more than welcome to both long-time fans, as well as the artist and his band!

Further I think your assertion that Mark's technical facility on the guitar might be diminishing and that that might somehow factor in to an appreciation of his live performances is completely irrelevant.  He is such a master of taste and style that he will always be a treat to listen to.
Admittedly not every artist is capable of this, but Les Paul made some of his finest recordings when he was in his 60s.  And I don't feel at all hesitant in saying that I think Mark is doing the same.

I know I'm going to get flak for this...but I do think it's time for Mark to drop TR from the setlists..besides...lets face it..SPEEDWAY has outshone it live the last few tours anyway..soooo...  As far as Mark losing his technical skills goes..it seems to me that he is actually regaining on the new album skills that may have been effected by the accident years ago. I haven't heard him record riffs like this in a while (Bluebird!).   :)

I think TR from 2005 is the best from the last tours. In my opinion it should always be played on the Strat. The Pensa sounds to soft in my ears on this song. In 2010 the song included some shortcuts. Don't know why... Anyone remember Madrid 2005? That's what I'm talking about  :)

It's the end of a perfect day..,.

Hi Hops,
You won't get any flak from me!   I've said elsewhere several times that I'd just as soon see Mark drop ALL of the DS material from his sets now and just play songs from his solo career.  And this is coming from someone who has been a fan since 1978 and first saw Mark perform when he only had one album out.

With Dire Straits he released about 60 songs I think - and the last of them 20 years ago.  Since then, as a solo artist he's recorded almost twice that number and counting!   It's time to drop the DS material from the set-lists altogether and let's hear more of the newer material.  Pleeeease!!!
