I admire tha hard work that Rangers has to do to come back to the Premier Scotish League, I hope it only takes one year per division...

It something like that happens to Real Madrid or F.C.Barcelona, people will go on the streets, there will be riots etc etc etc until they are back in first division... The same people that see how our bankers and politicians ruins our country, and do nothing at all. What a world.

However, my best wishes to you as a Ranger!

Speaking of soundtracks, I may be alone in this but I have the honour of having my football teams manager and former [iconic] player being on the cover of one of MK's albums!  Ally McCoist on A Shot At Glory.

By the way, how it feels when you see your idol in a movie, pretending to be an ex idol of the rival? In "A shot at glory" he was an old glory of Celtic...

I can see the parallels albeit in a smaller scale.  The thing is that at the moment we are being punished in a kangaroo court.  No proof of most of what we are being punished for by the SFA and the Celtic chief executive is on the board of the SFA!  I admit the clubs former owner done wrong by not paying tax and we should be punished for that but the SFA have gone too far.

Any club in Spain has a far far far far bigger debt about taxes than Rangers had... But they say that Spain is different, and yes, it is.

Coming back to the topic, my country feels pretty much like the Privateering cover... thats the feeling most of us have.

By the way, its a great artwork

Nice and friendly written article. Some little mistakes though. I doubt that there is a song where a man has a dialogue with two COWS? And Kingdom of Gold is at the beginning of the SECOND CD, not of the album... but otherwise, nice!  ;)

EDIT: Should this one not go to the other (Reviews) thread?

Hello Knopflerians,

I just read one and other underneath an other topic about the Art work of the new album. And it made me curious what you all think about the art work of the new album. But i would also like to know what your favourite album cover is of DS/MK. And what you think is one of the best album covers of all time. Doesn't matter which artist.

Best regards,
Michiel

Hi Michiel,

All I can say is it's a good thing I don't buy Mark's albums for the covers.   ::)  The only one I liked at all up until now was the cover for "Kill to Get Crimson".  I do kind of like the cover for "Privateering" but it's not great.

Same goes for the old DS days - I like the cover of the first album - probably for nostalgic reasons - but none of them really grabs me.

As for what album covers I do like - that would take some time to review (I've seen and listened to a lot of albums), and would likely comprise a full page of this forum.  So if I ever do get around to compiling it, it's probably best posted in a separate thread!    8)

I'm surprised to hear that many people don't like the DS covers. In my opinion, they were nearly always great and a lot better than what most bands came up with. Communiqu
