Hi Boog,

due to forum rules I've had to start using a nickname instead of my real name, but the avatar should give you a clue . ;D

You can choose the name yourself, also your own name is ok.
But the rules are just to protect people who use a nickname. I know a lot of peoples real names, but only use their nicknames. They choose to use another name in this forum so we all call him/her that name in here.

My name is Ingrid, nickname ingridswing, I wouldn't be happy if my full name would appear here all the time, however a lot of the members know it, as they know my e-mail, phonenumber, address. It's just not public, because everyone can read in this forum.

Thanks Ingrid. I was misinterpreting  the request to only use OTHER member's nicknames at the top of the page (pls refrain from using real names of members on here, pls use nicks at all times.) I understand the reasons for this, and as I was using my full name on  MK.com I also thought it would be a good idea to change, for the reasons you give.

Cheers, ( what, no Beer emoticon? ;D)

Aidan.

Welcome Boog!

I was just wondering have you ever had a jam with your banjo and Notting hillbillies' Railroad working song. I like that simple banjo pattern going there

Hi Silvertown, I have  :) It was an interesting one to do. The banjo is in open D tuning, and I play using Keith/Scruggs D-tuners. Steve Phillips mic is turned down really low so my banjo is really the only one you can here. Good thing ... one banjo is bad enough!!!  ;D

BTW, "Boog" is my nickname  :)

Thanks for the really kind welcome folks. Here's a couple more cyberjams for you to enjoy. I've done these with various artists, but the ones with Mark are my favourites. I've never been all that interested in doing straight covers; I find I much prefer working out an arrangement and trying to mix it in to the original. BTW, I can't play the banjo anymore (arthritis), so it's strictly slide guitar now  :)

Cheers,
Boog (not my real name LOL)

nope, you can use your Real Name in your Nick. But we only assume that if people do not use their real name in their/ as their nick, that they possibly do not want to share their real name straight away that problem does not occur if you use your name as/in your nick.
You can change your nick if you want to  :lol
any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....

Thanks for that! I like banjo when it is not playing too fast.

I would like to welcome all the new people who join us here at AMIT .......and Boog, I liked your cyberjam!

When I read some of the messages at the FB page MK fans, I felt very sorry for many of you!
In the past I have been posting at 2 forums as well who disappeared because of circumstances and the messages were gone!
I felt very sad about that! Well lucky many of those friends are still at FB, but that is not the same as having fun and
writing/responding messages at a forum!

After a while you will get to know people who are posting here and I am sure you will build friendships here as well. We are a great
group of people and you can find here a lot of information. If you need help, don't hesitate to ask, there is always somebody
willing to help! During the years I am visiting I met many nice people and some of them became close friends. It is wonderful to meet
them at concerts and having a great time together!

Well I need to stop now........as you see I use many words and stupid emoticons (haha I love them)!

Btw my real name is Fieneke!

If you are good to other people, most of them are good to you too!

We still have mark-knopfler-news.co.uk - don't forget its where it all started, years ago.    Not used very much now but it was the beginning and a lot of hard work by Terry Kilburn.

In the beginning .......

How far back can you guys remember?
