Just got a mail from mk.com. I asked why the code was not accepted. It was accepted but not visible on my confirmation. They will investigate why.
I also asked if new presales were expected for next week, because I am on a 9 days holiday.
They answered that this was not the case and that Ireland and Switzerland were not planned AT THIS TIME.
So they didn't say there won't be dates.

Just to inform you all.

In the I Paper article treath started by knopflerfan:

"We're doing 75 minutes each, then I've got time to get back on and play with Bob for a few songs. We had fun in Europe, the bands get on great and the crews get on great.

"I see Bob every day on tour. His soundcheck goes into mine, so we'll have a little chat about what songs I'm going to do.

Sounds great and really worth recording and listening!!!

I got the following answer a couple of days ago :
There are currently no confirmed plans for Mark to perform
in Ireland, Switzerland or Portugal - sorry about that. Any future dates will be
posted on http://www.markknopfler.com/tour/ and in a MarkKnopfler.com newsletter.

They know how to answer without giving any clue.
I don't understand their logic.
If you wait for a date in your country and eventually there's none, it's too late to find a replacement show and you buy no ticket.
If they announce early they won't visit your country, you have time to plan something else.

I know Tunnel85, but there are 2 problems:
1. they may have not dates yet for those countries
2. the promotor from the country decides when it will be known, not mk.com or PCM. They told me earlier

That's true, usually he can't say.   ;D
We all know there are 72 dates in 25 countries.  The problem is to guess the 7 missing ones,  ???

It might be a coincidence, but...

Yesterday I was watching a tv show about the crisis, how affected to the rescued countries in the UE and how close is Spain following the steps of the rescued countries to the crash... and realised that the countries that have noy any MK Tour Dates yet are the countries that are rescued and that their economy is very affected...

Portugal, Ireland and Greece

And Spain has 5 dates, three more than usual, but some less than GL tour, but thats because we are naive people still thinking that there will be a magical solution and we didnt realise yet how bad are we...

I repeat that it might be a coincidence but...

hungary is not exactly a prime example of a solvent country, and neither is the former rising star slovenia.
prolly a mix, and not entirely down to PCM, maybe there are simply no promotors left to take the risk?
