After having listened to Privateering a few times, I have several favourites !
Among the blues tracks :
- Bluebird
- Miss you blues
- Today is okay (MK writes fucking good songs about Sonny Liston !!!)
Among the other tracks
- The dream of the submariner
- Go Love
- Yon two crows
- Radio city serenade

A masterpiece !
They got a name for people like you, yeh they do
And they got a name for people like me too

Glad to hear they did put some time to the songs. Recording ~40 songs may result in lots of "unfinished" or "underproduced" stuff, but here it doesn't feel like it at all. The title track, Radio City and Drowned Submariner are good examples I think.

I avoided the snippets, so today I've had two proper listens - I must say I was initially skeptical, didn't want to get my hopes too high, but I love half the songs instantly (in a mellow relaxed way) and another quarter I like!

The many standard blues beats left me cold at first. But as I sit here listening to Today Is Okay, I think they will define the feel and sound of the CD. Overall it's quite thematic and nothing stands out as too jarring or out of place.
Hey, i`ve got a truffle dog - finally a song the ordinary man can relate too!

This is my first post after finding the forum :)

Overall great album. Prefer disc 1 to disc 2.

Yon two crows is for me the standout track on the album. Love the melody/feel, build up, metpahor lyris between crows and trying to make a hard living. Instrument interludes also sound incredible. One of the best MK songs in recent times imho.

Most of the other tracks on disc 1 are excellent.

The snippets didn't promise too much. The album is quite fantastic.

My absolute favourite is "Dream Of The Drowned Submariner". First, when I heard the snippets, I was quite excited about all those new, beautiful songs. When it came to DOTDS I felt like I was electrified. I stopped from one second to the other in my motion and didn't move for seconds. It was like a little shock.

Now I'm listening to the full version. Can't describe it; it is like kind of being hypnotised of that song.

On fire? We must have a different definition of "on fire".

I've listened to the album a few times, and I'm already bored.

Sorry.

Felt exactly the same! As I said yesterday, I purchased a copy from a Brazilian online store but it won't arrive til Sep 13 so yes, I downloaded it... Since I couldn't listen to it at work I burnt a copy and had my first listen during my ride back home. I got mesmerised. Didn't even care about the traffic jam that held me up for 2 (!!!) hours. No skippers. Lots of favorites, Dream of the Drowned Submariner is one of the most beautiful things ever written imho.
