i have completely different opinion.

this album is a masterpiece. it is not perfect. but: since a long time, there is some roughness in it, ...

it is not perfect, that

Interesting what you say Pasta Strainer about the 2CD thing being a bad idea and it would have been better being a 1CD of KILLER songs.  Perhaps if they had decided to put all the left-overs onto another disc and included it in the super deluxe box set then it would have made it a bit more attractive...

Too much and too little are both two evils, but at least with too much you can always skip. Especially in our playlist days, you can easily create your dream album. I think I'd order the songs in a ballads pile and a blues pile. The blues pile will be perfect for early morning in the forest runs, and the ballad pile perfect for being knackered on the floor after that early morning run. Who said piles can't be a good thing? (That sounds wrong.)

I actually mean the self-inflicted torture of running in the forest in the morning. Trying to get this old body back into some sort of shape. Did you have anything else in mind?

I pre-ordered my copy yesterday but won't put my hands on it before Sep 13... Gotta download that, doing it now.

I'm 100% sure everyone on this forum will buy original copies and also I'm sure if anyone from Mark's management comes across this thread they know that as well.

Bad news is it's 8:15am and I won't be able to have my first listen before I get home at 6pm... :S

The absolute last thing I can do in the morning is run through a forest.  It's as much as I can do to get myself out of bed!

Haha. Getcha. Well, I'm a bit of an early riser anyway, so if I'm going to put myself through agony, I might as well do it when I'm up for it (no pun intended).

If you Google mark knopfler privateering and limit the time to the last 24 hours, most hits will be links to download sites. Most of them have something to with "plan9", as was shown on the picture of the CD one or two pages back.

It would have been a 1CD of a killer songs if you were entitled to select the songs.   ;)
Don't forget the people in question have considered that Gravy Train, Camerado and Kingdom Come were not good enough.  ::)
