MK - BBC4
« on: July 19, 2012, 11:14:04 AM »
Please excuse if this has already been mentioned

Friday 20 July BBC4 - 21.55    Mark Knopfler: a Life in Songs
22.55    Later ... Presents Mark Knopfler (Jools Holland  1996)

They will be on YouTube but I'll be watching.   Remember in 1996 seeing Jools Holland presents - sublime hour of MK and I was totally blown away.   The days of Golden Heart, that cd is one of my favourites, along with others.  I love the duelling guitars on ~Gravy Train with Sonny Landreth

A bit of bliss!

This showed what BBC4 can still do so well- I'm rather ashamed to admit I didn't see either of these programmes when they were first screened but last night was really rather wonderful. Golden heart is one of my favourites of Mark's solo albums and it was fabulous to see these performances when these songs were still fresh. Only sorry they didn't do "Are we in trouble now"- one of Mark's greatest guitar outros IMHO.

The first song at my wedding was Are We In Trouble Now. It was the only decision I made.

My only decision was to play "It's cheaper to keep her"... ;)
Come on, it is not funny anymore.
