Hi all,

my attempt - just a quick draft:

Intro: Dm - Dm - Dm - Dm

Verse: ||: Dm - C - Bb - F - Eb - Dm :||

Chorus: F - Gm - D - Gm - C - D

Solo over Verse + Chorus (2x)

then Dm - Dm --> Verse, 2x Chorus, End (D)

I cannot check right now, but the second Gm on the chorus could be a Bb.

Well, no, F - Gm - D - Gm - C - D is the right sequence for the chorus.
Many tempo changes in the song, a bit challenging.

The second Gm is a Gm but with Bb in the bass: Gm / Bb; the guitar plays Gm, the bass guitar Bb (tierce of Gm).

There are three guitars in the song, the main acoustic, the electric solo, and also another acoustic guitar that play some chords here and there...

the usual scheme :
Mark plays lead and the "main" rhythm, and let Richard to play the "background" rhythm... ;)

As he used to do with all his rhytmic guitars from David to Phil before...

Mark is playing all guitars on Red Bud Tree (except the Pedal Steel):

"I could play my accordion And charm all of the women And dance round the taproom With a chair in my teeth"

Nice!

I thought about it: Maybe this song was recorded in the very early stages of recording process, during the first months Mark and Guy were alone at BG - remember that first diary entry - and thought they nailed it. Guy maybe played bass to be meant provisional - and later it was decided that it was perfect. Ruth and Paul Franklin were just overdubbed later during Mixing/Comping process. So there was no need for Glen Worf to take over the bass line.

I'm sure I'm not correct, but you can also easily move through the chords with a capo on the 3rd fret.  In this manner you're playing:

Intro:  Bm Bm Bm Bm
Verse:  Bm A G D C Bm
Chorus: D  E  etc, etc

Thanks so much for all this information!
I might give Redbud Tree a try on my accoustic guitar.
