Apart from the 6-8 weeks that someone mentioned reading on mk.com, I haven't received a single mail saying anything.

By the way, a friend of mine, knowing my fixation with MK, said that he saw the deluxe box at the shelves of a central record shop. It would be the only one, since I have been to MM and the biggest Greek multi store, yesterday and nothing there, not even Tempest. Not even Crises by Mike Oldfield!  ;D
Come on, it is not funny anymore.

Does anyone have information about the shipping of the super deluxe boxes from mk.com?

I got an email on Aug. 30th saying they were expecting shipments to their warehouse the week of Sept. 3rd and would then be sent from there as quickly as possible.
It's hard sometimes but pretty much it's alright

I received today the box from Amazon Italy, and I was very dissapointed as well...

I realised that they could had put the 3cd deluxe version inside the box very easily, the only thing that it was needing was design the box with the deep of that version to make it fit there, and then space for the cd and the dvd, very easy to do...

Unless your idea from the very beguinning is sell two editions to every get-a-lifer fan.

That probably was.

The art print... no matter is numbered, numbered by who? It would had had any value if it had MK sign, but that way it doesnt worth anything, totally pointless. I rather have the dice and chips, at least they look nice and different.

Crap, totally crap.

This all seems very familiar. I seem to remembering it happening last time with the Get Lucky box set.

There was a mad rush of fans to order one, then a delay, administrative and shipping cock-ups ending up in disappointment when it finally arrived.

Hello,

We've got some good news about your pre-ordered copy of Mark's new album, Privateering.

We have now received stock of the LP and Deluxe Box Set editions, and today orders started to ship from our warehouse. Orders will be fulfilled in the sequence they were received, so while your order may not be on the way just yet, it should ship very soon. We are confident that you will have your copy of the album by the end of the month.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding.

Until next time,
The MarkKnopfler.com Team

Now that's an interesting info.  At least we know it is a purely artistic decision, not a commercial one...
But, why Mark decided to remove TR ?
a) because he thinks there are already too many official versions out there (just kidding: we only have Alchemy, On the Night was censored, the Sultans of Swing bonus disk - same, and both the passalong and simfy recordings are not available anymore !
b) because he thinks that this particular version (Madrid) is not good enough,
c) because he thinks that the whole 2010 tour versions are not good enough and he wants to retire the song in future (no ! please no !)
d) because he thinks that the 2013 version will be so much better that he prefers to wait for these ones (yes ! please yes !)

What do you guys think ?

Hope you're wrong...
I posted to Guy's forum, would really like an answer on this one.
Guess the answer will be something like "I have no idea", "who knows", or "none of the above"... :(

And some times they can't tell wrong from right. But really, we have so many recordings, official and unofficial it would be too much to ask for another official, that would cost us some more, just because it is official. After all we paid all this money for the new album and no TR either... ;D

ALL decisions are taken by MK

Same for On The Night
Same for A night in London DVD
Same for no live DVD of the solo tours since 1996
How do you know for On the Night ? are you sure ? certainly in 1992 when his guitar playing was at the top, it could not possibily think that Sultans was dumb ? that TR was too slow ? that TOL was not worth it ?? Wasn't instead a stupid constraint like "this must fit on ONE CD" ?
