About the cover: He says that everybody who had that kind of car in the early days was immediately very welcome to play in a band. He also wanted to go away from that "saber rattling" image from the pirates idea and repeats that he loves to be on his own with his own crew and band, give the direction,
no government grant, surroundings change on a daily base... exactly like a privateer.

He also states that he certainly didn't want to make a "concept album", and also did not wanted to separate the songs because of their different directions, and also did not want to put some classic songs into the drawer for later times. He just wanted to document this outburst of creativtiy with a great band - and also wanted to document how great the sessions were they had... "Like artists coming together and reading a script, they filled this music in my head with life"

Very friendly words about Kim Wilson and Ruth Moody, and about the band: "This is the best possible band I tried to get my whole life".

Other suggestions and contributions very welcome.

The press text, not Mark himself says this about the songs:

Hot or What about an arrogant gambler
Yon Two Crows about a fierce sheperd from the north (who would have thought  ;) )

And Mark says: The older I get, the more I feel the urge to write more songs. You have to be careful because everywhere you walk you could hit a new song...

I tried from work, there is not any button. I guess Val may have something in his browser that allows you to translate. I have one button in my mozilla firefox broswer that translate every web, but at home  ;)

Thanks ustas!     Interesting artwork!   I notice that the DVD is, indeed, "A Life in Songs", which I already have in HD.   :-\

Well done Ustas.

I can't see the bonus cd with the live rehearsals in the box, the cd there looks like the standard 2cd version. I'll buy the box for sure but I dislike the idea of having to buy the 3cd edition as well...

I don't mind about the life in songs documentary, but I hope that DVD also contains the EPK like extras or something...
