Had another listen this morning and Bluebird sounds fantastic.  There doesn't seem to be any skippers to me and the best thing is the fact the whole album is mostly uptempo.  Only slight criticism is harmonica overkill, but it doesn't spoil it for me at all and I'm sure it won't sound as bad when I hear the full songs.

Yeah, same here. I thought tracks 1 to 10 are all "favourits" and I just cannot tell which one I like the most - they are all great. Gator Blood is really cool -
and I bet there will be guitar solos in these blues songs - some kind of duet or duel with the harmonica if you like. The expectations were really high this time, and MK did it! It all sounds really fantastic!

Lot of forumers seem to be on a holiday? We are just a handful of people talking about it. Dusty, Goldenheart, bbb, where are thou! Or maybe you don't want to get spoiled? I wrote SPOILER into the subject line last night but it's gone (I thought I could do it as it was "my" thread if you know what I mean)

Maybe when he plays them live the harmonica will be replaced by a nice juicy guitar solo.  Or then again the harmonica will probably be yet another string to Guy's bow along with fixing bikes and telling the weather in Mongolia!

To be serious, maybe the harmonica influence was partly due to being on tour with Mr Bob since they went strait to the studio after the tour full of harmonic inspiration...

Yes , maybe a tour without harmonica could be interesting, harmonica parts could be replaced by piano, hammond, guitar....
I always dreamt about a blues album by MK and now the dream comes true !
I also thought that BD could have influenced Mark.

I think this is a masterpiece of Mark. Man i'm just smiling and smiling, smiling like a fool  (again) There is a lot of pure blues song and awesome musicianship. Mark's music can change your life really...
