A concept album would be great, but somehow I'm not too sure about that. I do, however, hope there will be a broader variation of song themes this time - not only songs about gambling, simple people, maritime stuff and fairgrounds.

Not too excited about the cover art, either. How about asking Storm Thorgerson next time??  ;D
My fav MK album cover is probably the plane on STP - clear and simple, followed by RPD. Slot machine was ugly, casino was just a variation of that, and I didn't really like the scooter either.

What do you think, will the tourdates be out in October? Geez, I need to start saving. Put soo much money in my new flat  :(

storm thorgerson,...lol yeah, he could maybe do something new for mk, like a beam of light being shot through a crystal piramid, and then, imagine, it would beam out from the other side and shine with all the colours from the rainbow!
or mark could put a cow on the cover, or an ear underwater...man, the possibilities....mind boggling..
any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....

Bluebird could be about Donald Campbells boat that he died in trying to beat the world speed record.

After The Fish and The Bird
and the Early Bird
now the BlueBird !!

Mark must have something with birds!

Bluebird is also the name of the known restaurant/cafe at King's Road in Chelsea. Mark has been a frequent guest over there as it was just around the corner when he lived there. He also likes to arrange this place for the interviews. Of course, this may be a dead track, but knowing that he can be inspired by a bus timetable - who knows.

Edit: Banjo, I like your idea much better, though ;)
...Well, he's a big star now but I've been a fan of his for years. The way he sings and plays guitar still bring me to tears...

Bluebird is a song from Paul McCartneys Band On The Run album which was recorded on one of those famous boards at British Grove... Just thinking...

But it would be a real surprise if MK would put a cover version on one of his own records, wouldn't it. Might be a good question for Guy! What do you think?  8)

Paul McCartney also wrote a song called "What It Is" from the "Run Devil Run" album.    ;)

Interesting discussions...  :) By the way, the word "yon" is used both in the Privateering lyrics and in the title Yon Two Crows. I did a quick search, but didn't find any good explanation. Anyone know what it means?

Hi Jarle -  It means "over there" as in "Over there's my Privateer, see how trim she lies" or "Over there two crows".   Can also mean yonder, or "That one over there"

Funny, I googled the same word: In German it is the meaning of the old word "jene", (that one over there) which seems to indicate another old historical plot for that song, some medieval stuff as in Madame Geneva or Done With Bonny or.... what's it called.... ah... Privateering!!

Great news!  Didn't expect a double for a minute;  not like him at all.  Cover design is unfortunately pants as usual but the main thing is the music.

Bluebird was a motif used as part of the livery of the buses that ran in and around the Glasgow area years ago.  Maybe an idea, after all we had a song about Albion lorries from Glasgow...
"...and I blew up the radio in pretty short order."
