As many of you were talking about possible duels guitar-harmonica in the next tour... Just checked The Faboulous Thunderbirds site and Kim Wilson has scheduled some gigs that might happen during the MK tour.

http://www.fabulousthunderbirds.com/tour

Mike Henderson site doesnt say too much right now...

My guess is that harmonica wont be needed  ;D

According to a post on MK.com, John McCusker is in two minds whether to go on the MK/BD tour.  Apparently he is recording an album with Teenage Fanclub.   I was wondering if his services may not be needed much on this tour.  Maybe Kim Wilson will be there instead -  or maybe not!

From MK.com:

daily paper here in scotland says john mcusker might not do the mk and dylan tour, according to the paper he has to decide whether to tour with mk or work on an album by a band called teenage fanclub,to quote john "i might have to say to bob and mark that i,ll have to leave the tour"

Kim has a date on October 26th, I cant remember if it coincide with the Dylan tour...

Yes, I agree, I don't like Mike Henderson one bit - he is much too loud and drowns out MK's guitar!   :o

John wasn't on the first couple of concerts on the American tour in 2010, due to visa problems, but the band managed OK without him.   In fact Red Rocks and Charlotte were amongst my favourites from that tour.

I think you mean Las Vegas, he was there in Charlotte which was near the end of the tour.

They could always call on Stuart Duncan for a replacement for John.

Yes, sorry, I meant Red Rocks and Vegas!    Anyway Charlotte was another of my favourites!   :)

Stuart Duncan would be fine if John was unavailable!   :)

Stuart Duncan was terrific on the All the Roadrunning tour and his solo on Red Staggerwing was something else. Would have no complaints about him rejoining the line-up, though I absolutely love MK's current line-up.  They've all been great line-ups in the grand scheme of things.

John McCusker is only questioning the Bob tour, i understand? For the 2013 "full" MK tour he obviously will be available... I hope I will see him again, he is a very good addition with a lot of power and energy for MK's band...

Dire Straits was very loud. It was a Rock Show. Or call it, it was "solid rock"

They sometimes had some issues (i remember a very weak gig in the olympic stadium munich, too less PA and bad acoustic) but on the other hand i will never forget Nimes 1992 in france, when all you have in your stomach was in movement, especially at the bass lines of "Private Investigations" - yes, it was a good time , ...

i was in Basel 1992 too, one of the best concerts ever (heavy great versions of The Bug, Sultans, Solid Rock and Telegraph Road)

in todays gigs of MK i often miss bit more bass and drumpower out of the PA - as i remember the Shangri La was mixed live by the same guy who tours with Eric Clapton, it was noticeable as the PA was more set on Rock ...

Best sound is very difficult to achieve in big venues, i was at U2 in Athen 2010 Olympic stadium, the first part was very bad, and the 2nd part was powerful and clear sound, sometimes a miracle what they are doing with the sound - and i will never forget the excellent sound of Pink Floyd...
the floyd in 94 had the best sound i ever experienced (especially considering the fact that i was on a windy field with 70.000 others) but Marky comes close.
any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....
