Actually, I had a clue!

I just searhed YouTube for the two songtitles and found this:

Didn't know the guy's name, but I had definitely heard the song before. Sounds great. (Btw, saw the movie The Descendants with George Clooney recently. Lots of great Hawaiian music.)

The above video is only the "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" portion from IK's funeral in 1997. Over 10,000 people attended his funeral. He is a state treasure and idol in Hawaii to this day. You can see his ashes being scattered in the ocean with thousands of people celebrating at around the 2:40 mark. So sad. I along with hundreds of thousands of other's took up the ukulele because of IK.

This below link is a recording of IK's version of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow/What A Wonderful World" medley. IMHO the best arrangement and performance of the songs ever. So simple and powerful - uke and voice alone. Enjoy.

I e-mailed Chris's record company, this is what they said:

Hi James,

Chris is actually signed to Decca Records in the UK.  Decca will be releasing the album in your market although I have not been given a release date yet.  We'll definitely make an announcement once we know.  Until then you'll have to pick the CD up as an import.

All the best,

Archie Castillo
The Colomby Group

I checked the Decca website, and It's not on their list for May release.
Knopfler, Oldfield and Gilmour is all the guitar I need.

Just got John Mayers new 'Americana' cd - its cool, and Botti has a nice intro spot on one song.
All these collaborations, must be nice being brilliant?
Hey, i`ve got a truffle dog - finally a song the ordinary man can relate too!

Loving John Mayers new album ' Born & Raised'
A cross between Dylan, Neil Young, Jackson Browne &
Ryan Adams. Great album artwork too.

Absolutely, very Knopfler like - a slice of history and a character relationship. Great tune too!

We should start a Mayer thread before someone gets mad! ::)

I really like this album!

Mayer is such a talented guy. Amazing player. Just can't stand his personality. Really cocky person. Saw an interview with him, Doyle Bramhall (?) and Derek Trucks, and the contrast between Mayer and Trucks, the epitome of meekness, was indescribable.

I looked up "Walt Grace....." on YT and lo and behold, there was the whole of the album "Born and Raised" !    This happened with the Chris Botti album "Impressions" too.   I know it states that if you like this song, it is available to buy from itunes, but I'm sure there are many who would just listen or even download straight from YT.    I wonder what the artists feel about this, because it can't be in their interest, surely.    :-\
