Dough soundtrack??
« on: November 17, 2011, 02:00:16 AM »
Not sure if this a film or a tv drama but the IMDB reckon MK is the composer of the theme music for something called Dough.  Or maybe they will just be using MFN.

Nice! So we can have another 12 page long discussion thread about Mark's soundtrack work...  :)

Honestly, this is scheduled for 2013, maybe late 2013, so it seems quite possible that MK will do it, maybe after the next tour?

Oh, I see, I already started speculating...

As indicated by LE, "Dough" is in pre-production. It is described as "A touching comedy drama about the unlikely friendship of an old Jewish baker and a young Muslim", written by Jez Freedman and Jonathan Benson and directed by John Goldschmidt. It will star Jonathan Pryce (as Nat) and Merveille Lukeba (as Ayyash).

This is part of the profile of Mark on IMDb:

Trade Mark

Fender Stratocaster

Gruff, deep voice and whispering style of singing similar to Bob Dylan

Clean, bright guitar tone

Plays the electric guitar with fingers unlike most guitarists that prefer a pick

His headband

I'm sure you'll appreciate that.

Incidentally, "Metroland" was directed by Philip Saville, who was the guy who first brought Dylan to Britain in late 1962 for a BBC TV play that was broadcast in early 1963. I never saw the play and the recording was apparently destroyed but there was a TV programme about the play a few years back.

I'm sure some of these film companies just attach Mark name to there projects in hope that it will gain the film some exposure, even if they have no intention of Mark doing the film at all.
Knopfler, Oldfield and Gilmour is all the guitar I need.

I like it:
Log Line:  A comedy drama about the unlikely friendship of an old Jewish baker and a young Muslim cannabis dealer.
