Yes, indeed. There are names I don't know, names I do know but only their names, names I know well but generally avoid, names I know well and some of their music, and names I'm really looking forward hearing having a bash at a Bob song. It's a real cross-section, in a way, though I'd like to have seen The White Stripes and PJ Harvey on the list, for example but, then, we can all play that game and it gets us nowhere.
I guess that Amnesty International were looking to generate the widest possible sales for their coffers.
Even for me, 5 hours or so of Bob music, much of it by bands I don't know and some by bands/people I don't much care for, will be challenging, perhaps lifted by the fact that I know the songs so well. There aren't many contemporary performing artists who could engender such a roster or be chosen for such a cause.
