Very different answer from Guy on his forum when asked if they will play live again. It’s gone from those days are over to this “ Thanks, yes, our last European show. It’s hard to say right now if we will play any shows, we’d love to of course.” I wonder if things have changed?

AI?  :think

That's Pete Townsend.

Not according to my search.  Anyway you wouldn't know from your seats under the stage lighting.  ;)

According to a question about Sailing to Philadelphia Guy answers that hé his working on atmos mixes of the album for an anniversary.
Hopefully we get a boxset including the shelved live dvd or a recording of that tour

There is at least one UK show recorded using multitrack so an audio release is possible.
The Madrid DVD would be a big a big surprise if the reason given so far was the right one.

Nice to have an STP Anniversary Edition.

I guess whatever you ask Guy these days, his answer will aways be "Atmos".  :lol

September 2025 means 25 years STP, the only possible jubilee. Interesting that Guy gives this information away so easily, keeping in mind how secretly they behave usually.

Which UK show is multitrack recorded?

Actually, reading Guy's answers I understand he's working on Atmos mix of it, probably for just streaming or Blu-ray release, but nothing else.

Maybe my understanding of the language and the way he says things is too simple.

Yes, but what he says is this:

"Yes, I’m working on the Atmos mixes for the anniversary"

Thinking in previous answers to similar questions; I agree this could means exactly that, with two options, streaming and/or bluray edition of the STP record.

I know we all want to think further, but usually we go further than the real thing.

He's also asked about the Madrid 2001 dvd and he answers that he remembers, nothing more.

Who knows, but I don't expect anything further than a bluray with just the record, but I fear it would be just streaming.

An ideal 25th anniversary, in my opinion, would feature:

- The original UK version with both "Do America" and "One more matinee"

- An aditional cd with the extra tracks in the "What it is" single, "Let's see you", "The long highway", "Camerado", the original versions (which are different than the ones in ATRR record) of "Red Staggerwing", "Donkeytown" and the unreleased songs "Pyroman", "Bonafide", "Two skinny kids", "Cold Turkey", "You're not even gone" and "Don't mean a thing", there should be more than this ones complete the 25 songs originally considered for the record (check https://www.amarkintime.org/forum/index.php?topic=7214.0)

- An additional two cds with one of the recorded concerts, Madrid, Bilbao, Glasgow or Newcastle

- An aditional dvd/bluray with the Madrid concert

That would be my ideal for an excellent STP 25th anniversary.

The reality would be just a bluray version with the STP atmos version of the record, sadly this is what I expect only.

Never liked the STP tour and can't absolutely understand the AMIT demand for the Madrid DVD - ridiculous non-stage, Mark looking tired in his little Red T-Shirt, mediocre versions of almost all songs.. I mean a DVD should also offer some visual content. (For example the 2008 stage).

Also absolutely unrealistic to expect unreleased 'original" versions or Pyroman and stuff.
The bonus tracks imcluding Long Highway are a good realistic option (Double CD or Vinyl).

I would go for a complete official mix of the Vaison 1996 Show anytime.  ;D ;D

Agree with the Madrid 2001 concert. I was there, Chet Atkins just passed away the day before and MK looked affected in my opinion. I was also at the gig two days before (Barcelona) and that show was way better and more energetic than Madrid, but they had set up everything for that show so they keep with the plan.

Also the show was chaotic as the bullring was full of seats in the arena, Spanish people were not used to that as it was usual to stand up in the bullrings, so everyone abandoned their seats and remained standing for the whole show, and that visually had the effect than the bullring was more than half empty.
