BOB DOES NOT SPEAK TO CROWD.

Apart from band intro he simply doesn't.If you realize that in advance you may lessen your disapointment.

I wasn't disappointed at all, but I did think he could have mentioned Mark being on tour with him.   After all Mark had thanked him for inviting him on his tour.  I feel it is just common courtesy to reply.  Something like "I'd like to thank Mark for agreeing to join me on my tour".  That wouldn't hurt him too much, would it?

To be honest I'd rather he play with Mark than simply mention him.

An unnanounced apparition on stage. To the surprise of the crowd and Bob himself : "Hello dear, you invited me to open for you but what would you think of performing a duet, now?"

Come on ! It's a great show ! You can't miss it ! "Don't you dare miss it ", it's really an appropriate slogan.
I've done two shows, I have two more coming and I'm gonna try to raise money for that one in Rome.

Personally, I had a great time and I am not a Dylan fan.  The main plus for me was seeing Mark perform with such energy again after such a long time in world weary mode.  Anyone who says sitting down doesn't affect his performance is kidding themselves.  On most songs anyway.  And he also looks like he's having fun on stage.  Maybe the fact he's only playing for just over an hour means he doesn't have to pace himself for a 2 hour show? ???

Perhaps Bob wasn't as bad in Glasgow as he was in Manchester.  Read Guy's forum and there are lots of posts saying much the same thing as I have about the Manchester gig.  Also people on the MK.com forum.  We can't all be wrong!

The main thing for me was that Mark and the band sounded fantastic - nothing else matters, certainly not an old man like Bob, who has hit the buffers!   :)

but he used to,  i remember this site that collected "Bob jokes" about all the silly jokes he would blurt out while on stage, and when i listen to some of the 90ies shows, he used to talk there...so what changed??

He did go through a period of telling daft jokes from the stage a few years ago, and at various stages of his career he was talkative on stage but for the most part he just lets the songs do the talking. I remember an interview from a few years ago when he was asked why he didn't speak to the audience and he said something like he wouldn't know what to say!

OMG VAL, you decent, sweet and lovely lady use words like this? ......................

Thank you and also MB and other MK friends and fans of BD for your reviews! I am sorry to hear that many of you didn't enjoy the performance in Manchester! It really is a pity because I know how excited you were and couldn't wait for this concert.

Although having said that, it seems that the quality of the sound and also of the performance of Bob is different every evening. It seems that it was ok Saturday, but very worse yesterday! As usual the performances of Mark are great and I am glad that many fans of BD liked the music of Mark as well. You know we all know the songs of Mark and enjoy almost all of them, but I can imagine that fans of BD who don't know the songs have another opinion. Of course that doesn't mean that they can shout and tell Mark to play something else or shout other things. They should behave and have respect for the artists who are playing!

Well I am glad to hear that Mark and the guys have energy and fun. Listening to the 3 new songs and all the other wonderful songs, I can't wait for MK's Tour next year!

Quote Banjo99uk: "The Dylan only fans better behave themselves during the gigs I attend.  Otherwise I do have a vicious wife and am not afraid to use her."

Haha, you make me laugh out loud! You funny guy, I am sure the Dylan fans will now behave when you and your wife are there!

Sailing to Philadelphia from last night. I have to say - Mark's guitar playing on this one is one of the best I have heard on this song for a long time. Inspired playing!
