His death really hit hard.   When someone has such a great influence in your life, and you use his products and innovations every day, you are stunned.    I am sorry that he was ill and suffered so much.    He changed the world.
But a spoonful of forgiveness
Goes a long, long way
And we all should do our best
To get along

No disrespect. May he rest in Peace. But so many people die every day, from various diseases that can be cured in the "civilized-developed" world. I can't feel sorry just because he had ideas about technology. The human condition needs more people with compassion and not just inventors. I feel sorry for the loss as well, as a human being, but on the other hand I think it is an opportunity to think of the follies of technology. 
Come on, it is not funny anymore.

even though the ipod is my favorite invention of the past 10yrs or so. could NOT live without it, crammed with 120GB of goodies..
any Knopfler, Floyd or Dylan will do....
