Brothers in arms was a song released in 1985, and the live version from that tour had that strong drum part at the end that makes the song more epic, then MK decided to delete that part and keep the song on the slow tempo till the end.

I preffer the powerful version, it touch my heart, the slow one, makes me sleep.

My two cents.

When I was younger (I was 16 at time) I too liked better "powerful" songs compared with slow ones that I unfairly labeled as boring ones.
Now my tastes are changed and I love how MK musically improved the quality of his performances.

My two cents completely agree with your two cents on this one.

I agree with both of you!   I was just pointing out in my post that MK DID play impressive and powerful endings post-1992!    I just didn't find The Straits powerful ending as touching and emotional as MK's!    However, they are keeping DS music alive and that is what is important!   :)

So getting back to the Straits then, if you like the 1985 tour powerful one then, the Straits version is a good representation of this, imo better than the watered down version of more recent years. Purely personal taste.

1985 version for me.

But Mark changed the end after reading a review of the show. As early as of  1986 if I am correct.

I wonder who is the drummer, and also the rythmic guitar player...

Adam Phillips is the other guitar player

Phil is on tour with George Michael. Confirmed on Alans site. Prior commitment I reckon.
