I'll wait for Pottel to chip in, but my un-expert understanding is that there are very few soundboard Dylan recordings in modern times (pun intended) ie since Neverending Tour.

To be perfectly honest, I'm not a fan of the Simfy recordings of the GL tour.  I don't think the quality was top notch and the mix was pretty poor overall.  There are many, many better audience recordings in recent years that are an easier listen.  Of course technically soundboard are better recordings but the mix is an important factor to me.

I thought the RAH recording was rather muddy, compared with the others I have, especially Manchester, which I think is wonderful, except for TR, where MK's guitar was a little low in the mix, but overall I am very pleased with them and hope they continue doing the recordings.   :)

I think there are very few AUD recordings that are better than soundboards (e.g. no bass loss, or certain instruments), I much rather listen to SBDs than AUDs. K2JC or Sailing (1 proper SBD, not counting the Radio FM-mix, which was quite bad imho) tours had almost no SBDs, so I think Simfy is much much better than nothing.

I thought the audience recording from Mashantucket 2010 was better than any of the Simfy ones personally.  Amsterdam 28.06.10 and L.A. 16.04.10 audience were pretty good too.

You're right though that Simfy is better than nothing but it did mean in the last tour that hardly anyone seemed to record the European leg shows. :(

Gotta listen to those, because I just listened to few Simfys from 2010.

At least they could shout their lungs off when not recording (if they didn't fall asleep during the first half ;D  )

I LOVE the simfy recording of Amsterdam June 28-2010! It feels as if I am standing there again when I listen to the music! Since the concert we play that recording in the car, at my mobile phone when I ride on my bicycle to work and after listening again and again, I still love all the songs! :P

I hope they will continue recording the shows! ;D

Many of them were recorded, but as far as Simfy recordings existed, the audience recordings were not shared. In dimeadozen if you upload a recording that exist oficially, it gets banned, at the knopfler-tk nobody wanted to take any risk as simfy recordings are oficial.

i did!

And you sir will forever be remembered for that by me!  Too bad about Bournemouth though. :-\

These audience recordings should be allowed to be uploaded on torrent sites because although they are the same concert (therefore same content) as the Simfy downloads, they are simply not the same actual recordings.  There is no reason why the audience ones shouldn't be allowed.

That was before the Bournemouth simfy recording was uploaded, remember that that concert was uploaded after the tour finished, with Manchester, Glasgow and some more dates from UK.

What I dont get is why Dimeadozen didnt ban that recording, maybe nobody discovered it existed legally  ;D
