I know that the bbc iplayer doesnt work outside the UK in whatever has to do with television, but I can listen to the radio for sure, actually I always connect to BBC Radio 2 as their morning programmes are quite good in musical terms...

Well you know it is more about the itch to listen to it when it is first aired, but my family program lately is out of control, so I might have to settle for a re-recording, after all. Old grey whistle test was a great show. It took it's name from the fact that if the old grey people (cleaners, janitors etc) working in the studios could whistle the tune they have heard from the bands, that indicated a hit. (or at least, that the song was worth listening and airing)
I have two double collections with recordings from their shows, unfortunately DS are not in any of them. Same goes with the 2 DVDs I have, but I know there are more, so I can't put my finger on it. Of course, as you already know their recordings have surfaced. They were actually the ones I could find most easily in the early 00.
Thank you so much.
Come on, it is not funny anymore.

In the BBC Radio site you have the chance to listen to it after it was broadcasted, at least with the BBC Radio 2 programmes are like that, I guess that with the Old grey whistle test is the same.

Thanks for the story, I didnt know and its quite nice!

Thanks for the youtube link. The interview is jumping a bit here and there (Notting Hillbillies, Nashville); I think he should have tried to pull out more info about how DS felt at the event, etc.

I fully understand that Mark is reluctant about talking about the past and all that, but suddenly he throws out a little nugget and you feel history comes alive. When he described how he was sitting in the flat in Deptford wondering if they'd ever get signed, that adds that personal touch to the story that we all know so well. And very often he gives the impression that doesn't have the clue about anything, probably because he's bored, but I'm pretty sure all the details are there.

Mark, how about your personal memoirs, man?

It may only have been up for so long but don't worry - it's on YouTube:

"...and I blew up the radio in pretty short order."

Thank you DMG, I already found and watched (listened) that interview, but what I was looking for was "The thing about Hank" piece, not this one.

Thanks anyway!
