Many Dylan fans seem to be so disappointed. I assume it must be true.

Very weird and arrogant atmosphere over there ...
I guess they don't know who they are talking about.

Some of them do. One poster pointed out that MK is the bigger draw, both in record sales and live.

There's no question that musically and culturally Bob Dylan is massively more influential than MK. But he's never sold that many records. I remember being amazed when it was pointed out that his son Jakob's debut album with The Wallflowers (a brilliant album by the way) sold more copies than anything his dad had ever done.

Whatever happens, I'm happy. MK is number one for me but Dylan is definitely top 5.

Backstage conversations... (add voice accents)

Bob - "Hey we should do that one of yours, Tunnel Of Love, but in a reggae feel?"
Mark - "oh sure...."

Mark - "Y'know my mix Jokerman was pretty good."
Bob - "oh man... you should look forward Mark, my head is only full of new songs maaaan....."
Hey, i`ve got a truffle dog - finally a song the ordinary man can relate too!

Google Bob Dylan and Mark Knopfler.Seems this isn't without precedence. As a casual to slightly more than casual fan until yesterday I was unaware there was any history between them at all.Suppose they will play RAH ,tickets will be extortionate and all the decent tickets will go to uber fans on both sides, celebs and hangers on.Just to add there is a superb version of knocking of heavens door albeit done in the wake of Dunblane,on you tube with MK and BD.

This would no doubt be an interesting tour and raises expectations for some new arrangements of older songs at the least. One thing more that apparently hasn't been considered is the possibility of a BD/MK record. THAT could be very good, and Dr. Fletch has left a few clues that something more is afoot, e.g. "These sesssions are over...."

Anyway, bring on the music!

Keep Knopflerin'   ;)

Google Bob Dylan and Mark Knopfler.

I'm not mocking you or anything, it's always fun to discover new facts about artists and celebs, but you should know that 95 percent of the most active members on this forum have installed a chip in the back of their neck which contains all, and I mean all, there is to know about Mark Knopfler. And it's continually being updated. We are talking about the Ph.Ds, black belters, Master Masons, etc. of the world of Mark Knopfler here ;D So Googling will be kind of redundant LOL

PS "Black belters", wouldn't that be a cool name for a group of black soul singers?

OK, time for a presidential comment  ;D
The President is not a huge fan of Bob's although I do respect him as a great poet. I saw him live once and was really dissapointed. Couldn't recognize any songs and his interaction with the audience was unexistant. He had practically his back turned to us. Plus we had really bad seats (a mile away from the stage) which I think didn't help. So this would be a opportunity to give him a second chance. So, I would probably go and see them (if they came to Copenhagen, I would not travel too far).

That said, I'll only  believe it when an official annoucement is made.....

I will be disappointed too. I would be great to see any duet, but not with BD.
